You did an amazing job!!!! It looks great!! The top gaping at armhole IS NOT because of your proportions, it happens everyone whose not an 8 year old girl. The darts help shape fabric into 3d to curve around us. ❤

I'm very impressed with your whole vibe. You did a great job explaining what you were doing and why. After 50 years of gathering fabric and using all kinds of hacks, my favorite way is dental floss and the widest zigzag. Dental floss is coated so it slides easily so that is another plus. Love your husband's music. It reminds me of my husband who taught himself to play several instruments so he wouldn't have to talk to people. He met me and ended up getting involved with a couple of bands. 😂

Beautiful dress! The more I sew the more I am not afraid to unpick and alter as I go. I have made several tops out of vintage linen tablecloths. So much fun! I look forward to seeing your next sewing project! Love from New Zealand💜

The dress turned out beautiful. Your patience and efforts were amazing. Zigzagging over embroidery floss works very well with the widest stitch. And I gather right on the seam line so I can control the gathers as I sew - some zigzag thread may show but I just clip that off after all done. You did a great job making it into what looked great on you. ❤️😁🌹
