If you are curious to know the way a crocheter would shorten a sweater like the one you have, they would snip the threads in the the original bottom hem until they can pull the crochet string free causing the sweater to unravel. Unraveling stitching happens by pulling on the right string and it goes much more quickly than trying to hand sew crochet thread to finish the edge. When you get to the pattern end at the length you like then use the same thread you pulled out to single crochet back along the edge in the same manner as the original hem. Knot the string in the stitch, and weave in the thread back into the finished edge several stitches and clip off the string. The shortened garment will be as strong an well finished as the original hem. If you don't crochet you can still unravel the bottom rows as described and the just loop the string through the last stitch making a knot a few times. weave the string through a few stitches with a darning needle be fore snipping the string. This is also a pretty secure way to finish the garment. Thanks for the video. I love upcycling.

Easiest and cheapest way to do narrow hems is to use ban rol tape.

On your crochet top, I would figure out your style line first, make it, fold it on that style line, then sew. Trim your excess, roll up & sew again.

Never ever cut in crocheted or knitted garments, without first - first - securing it with a seam.

luckily i haven’t had any issues with it since cutting and sewing the edge, but i can see how this would be beneficial. thanks for watching!

She should have cut it just a bit under the *desired finished length.* She will learn. No problem.🤗

No zig zag the seam first then cut it. Then you can buy a knit trim bind the edges.

Same when some people trys to presse on their own believe on to others. I'm to clever to believe - only thing I believe is love and sciense. Sorry but it makes me so angry, that people who believe, have decided that everyone Else is wrong.

Oh, good grief. Ever heard of ‘freedom of religion?” Your creator is yours and maybe not everyone else’s.

Please stop shoving your religion down peoples throat. Believe what you want, but your comment was unnecessary. Not everyone thinks like you, and this isn’t your channel.
