Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age is much easier than the original FF12. The Struggle for Freedom Proud Mode mod by Eternal248 changes this and rebalances Magicks, Jobs, Licences, Technicks and more. This mod is not intended for inexperienced players, but if you're an OG who finds this version of Final Fantasy 12 too easy, definitely try this. The Mandragoras boss fight is the craziest example of Proud Mode's challenge! And there's stakes too - every game over means physical strain in my 10 Pushups per Death run on Twitch.

I haven't tried proud mode yet, but for perspective, i've been playing the original Struggle For Freedom mod, and it has taken me 150 hours and about 3 months to playthrough to endgame, and i still have yiazmat, omega mk XII, Vayne, and Trial mode (it is now for high level party, very difficult) to finish. Loving every second of it.

I always felt like there is something missing or I feel empty every time beat or killed the boss, I've played the original and the izjs and now zodiac age, the greatest parts about this game is being hard or very hard and getting fcked up.. Lol

Damn I just wanted that the enemy’s do more damage and found your Video. Mad respect as a Final Fantasy 12 fellow. The fights are a bit to long to watch to not lose my interest but have fun with your streams

Not sure if I like this tbh. It seems like Proud Mode just turns the game into a glorified puzzle game. Is the regular Struggle for Freedom mod better?

Regular SFF I felt was perfectly balanced while being logical and encourages you to use the game mechanics in the way the base game doesn’t, but in an intuitive gameplay sense rather than trial and error difficulty. It doesn’t feel as spongy or tough but you will need to use basic strategies like debuffs, buffs and using elemental attacks/unique items to make fights easier. Not like vanilla IZJS where Attack + Cure is enough to get you through the entire game.

I found it manageable for most of the game - grinding needed but manageable. The balance really falls apart for endgame content though
