How I Made My Elden Ring Bible/Sketchbook/Journal

In this video I try to give some insight into the thought process and materials involved in making my Elden ring play through journal, I also give a behind the scenes
look at how I approach coloring my sketches as I answer some frequently asked questions regarding this project. Calligraphy illumination and lettering is done once all the pages
are colored in so that wasn't shown here. I may even do a gold leafing pass at the very end of the project for a select few pages.
I have two other videos where I flip through my adventures in Limgrave and Liurnia, Check them out if you haven't already and want to see more about this book.
Thank you to all who have joined me on this quest to scribe and illustrate my adventures in the lands between.
Elden ring is a game created by fromsoftware, This book is my attempt to document my experience in the lands between. I did not create this world or its characters.

I don't expect this video to get many views, its just a quick look at materials and my process, sorry if it's not a long flip through and it might feels lackluster or repetitive to most people, I just wanted to have a vid up that explains the background of the project a bit better.

This is so inspiring. Ever since I saw your sketchbook tour where you first showed glimpses of this book I was instantly hooked. You’ve inspired me to do some deep dives on some video games that I truly love and attempt my own “playthrough sketchbook” myself. Hey bro, I’m gonna be honest. You could legit make like 100,000 copies of your sketch book and make some good money from it. I can’t imagine how many Elden Ring fanboys would wanna buy this. Seriously tho, get a loan from the bank, make a shit ton of copies of your book on a massive scale, and sell it. Although, if you actually end up doing this, maybe start out with making like 50 copies, and depending on how it goes, and the demand for it, then you can produce more copies to sell. You’re sitting on a potential goldmine, friend!

Love this work of obsession. It’s great. I like to draw and paint, and have done it as part of my occupation. I know that whatever image you have in your mind will never fully materialise, but our thoughts change. It’s capturing the imagination that is the art, and you have not only captured your own imagination beautifully but you are obviously capturing the imagination of many others. That’s a soulful achievement. Perhaps looking at a finished picture seems like ‘looking back’ from your current place, so you have moved on already. But don’t focus on any perceived shortcomings. You do what you do, it becomes tangible and inspirational to others, and that invokes aesthetic understanding. It’s not just the material object is it? Your sense of failing must surely come from comparisons with other artists who inspired you, no? Like you have a target in mind concocted by your own aesthetic experiences. But you are you, and it’s a beautiful endeavour born of love, and it’s a beautiful and often humourous result, so do share in the joy that you inspire in others. Apologies for the ramble, but I suppose I would like you to see that your negative experience translates into other people’s positive ones.

I can't imagine how cool it would be to both support you in being able to create more! As someone that writes a lot of stories and draws often I have really low confidence despite having lots of lore and stuff I've worked on for pretty much my entire life up until now, so hearing you have a more unconfident disposition despite creating so much incredible things is really inspiring to see, I hope you seriously never ever stop. Thanks. Seeing your work really inspires me. I do a lot of watercolor.. yet I always draw on…impulse? So like I have little technique e no one around e no one I’ve ever met in person paints😂 so it’s all coming from my heart I suppose. Seeing that you drew all that just cuz you wanted to, and you did so so many paintings… with SO cheap Watercolors..it Immediately turned on a light in me. Like,I can see myself doing that in “My Style” for sure.. I just Han NEVER seen someone relatable DO IT Before!🎉 I do like abstract fairytale type art.. yet I’ve never filled a sketchbook and I was too self aware for no particular reason I suppose? Seeing your book I can relate to your “Flow” I just had never had the click to do it like that before. Almost every artist on KZbin I’ve seen looks, acts and talks a bit or a lot like some kind of Snob.. so it didn’t fully click with me. Your book e work feels So “organic” like direct from inner experience/concept to page.. it just clicked with me. Thank You so much for sharing. I hope you make more videos of you coloring in your sketches, seeing your ease at applying color in also helped me A Lot! Thanks a bunch Man, as you see.. I just started watching your videos this month after your elden ring sketch book came up in my KZbin recommendation and your art is inspiring me to get out of my creative rut and find that motivation to draw everyday. So thank you for sharing your art with the internet, it has helped at least one person. Also your quote about constantly working on your art because it never feels good enough is such a powerful thing to say, myself and I’m sure others feel the exact same about their own creative abilities so thank you for being able to articulate that aspect of being a artist so perfectly. Looking forward to any and all new uploads from you :)

I saw in another video where you showed off different types of sketchbooks. The one that caught my eye was the leather sketch book with the fur on it. You think in the future you will sell something like that ? Cause I’d love to have something similar it’s really cool !

@@artyzartifacts9799 i loved the look of that journal too. would be cool to see a walk through of how you made it, especially staining and aging the pages. however, only do it if you really want to, not trying to pressure you!

« I listen to the Berserk soundtrack by Susumu Hirasawa » -> goated taste. You should try his solo albums if you haven’t yet, Technique of Relief is a good starter. Your passion and love for Elden Ring is really impressive. It’s nice to see how much you improved between the first and the current page of your sketchbook! (Cute turtle btw)

low self esteem often comes from unrealistic expectations from society. How to be, what to have, what to think. Just be you, take a deep breath, life is as it should be. Amen brother!
