It's 'Back of an envelope'. A sketch on a napkin is just a napkin sketch. Years ago, someone was selling "Engineers Notebooks", which were ring bound used envelopes.

Dave, if you are willing to "redecorate" the shop, The Pet Cemetary can be behind a Polka-Dot Door.

BNL also managed to make the theme song to The Big Bang Theory. I dunno if it got them more fans, but I hope so, because their stuff was always great but underappreciated outside of Canada.

I don't know the "friendly Giant" show. I just like that ending. So, it works without even knowing the show. At least for me.

When I was in college I worked for the Petroleum Recovery Research Center as a tech for a semester. We had a FORTH ROM for the KIM-1 because my boss loved stack based programming (He was an HP guy). All the control systems we built that weren't just analog PID loops were programmed in FORTH. That is the only time in my life I have used that language.... very efficient memory usage, but I always found it hard to visualize the flow.

Btw, the SuperPET runs very hot!! You need heatsinks on the 3 ROMs and a fan if you can put one in. I talked to the creator of the SuperPET, and he agreed. Commodore did add any to save money

Question: Are you going to show us your homes Christmas decorations this year.

so many high school memories playing Apple IIe Wolfenstein and lemonade in the computer lab. Although the day the C64 showed up was golden.

@2 mins...On what the PET can (and cannot do) with its memory perhaps take a look at an BYTE article from Steve Wozniak from 1980 ish, "The Impossible Dream" Calculating 'e' to 116,000 Places on an Apple II. He saved its output to tape, which while sub optimal is still an approach.

In my early days my boss I would clean our timeclock boards off that got water damage from shop floor. We used 100% acetone (industrial strength). Worked great. Most of time just using a toothbrush and acetone fixed the bad board. Smelled terrible but it worked.

@3:00 Russell Crowe, the movie was Romper Stomper. Not a bad Aussie movie for its time, tough subject to cover. For comparison, if you enjoyed American History X (regarding its sugject matter) and don't mind a lower production quality, I think you'd enjoy it.

ooo I have just been handed the top of a miniature lighthouse that needs to have a searchlight animated through it's 8 sides. I planned on putting 8 panels like you just showed rickrolling. I hope you go over doing that in some detail.

? Hi Dave and Glenn Thanks for the awesome videos. Sorry no question for you Glenn but many another time, but I have a question for Dave. If you print a photo from the menu after right clicking the file in explorer, and then print the same photo from the photos app in windows, why do the printed photos look different? Have an awesome day.

There are very few questions I am capable of answering. I just ask them and leave the answering to Dave. I grabbed all the q’s yesterday for recording last night. I’ll try to remember to bring this one forward for the episode next week.

Were you trying to think of Rusell Crowe or Paul Hogan? The former played the lead in Gladiator. The latter made some fun films about a crocodile hunter. Both are worthy of note. {^_^}

I also bought one of those $4000 PCs in 1983- 256kb RAM and 2 floppy drives, monochrome monitor, came with a free dot matrix printer. Today the "computer that I want" is about $1000 for a desktop and up to $2000 for a laptop. I built my latest desktop for about $850. I'll never buy a laptop that is that expensive but that doesn't mean I don't want one.

I thought I would have a look at Golang after being led there by playing with Ollama thanks to you introducing me to it, thanks. I wanted to try a different version with different quantization parameters and Golang is required to compile it. After that I tried a simple hello World program. I wrote it in a style I prefer which is to have curlies on individual lines so I can see blocks and matching braces more easily. I like that look much better than the brace following o the same line as the statement. But, I got a syntax error. It seems as though one must use that particular style or it won't compile. What do think of being forced to use a particular style like that especially one as heinous as mismatched curly braces, so called Egyptian style? I also don't like Python because of formatting rules but that is a different case.

1080p is what Google is giving out in the highest setting. I have 150Mb fibre. So, might want to investigate at your end once you upload the why the 4k isn't an option. 🤓 Other videos are happy to play in 4k.

Hope you wont take this as a negative comment. But could you do this alone? List viewers questions and talk your heart out. It'd be more informative and entertaining.

I like Glenn, especially when he asks his own follow-up questions. Sometimes the answers to his questions are more interesting than the original questions. Also I suspect that doing the show with a partner is more fun and less work for Dave.
