I shake my head whenever you start a project, instead of just using wood and resin, you must incorporate the most incredible mind-boggling pattern! I try to carve basic wood into a good sculpture, but YOU HAVE TO go light years beyond our other mere mortal carvers/sculptors!!! It is an absolute joy to watch your videos and work. Interesting fact, those large snails are actually welcome in South African gardens near the coast since they feed on those pesky snails that ruin the plants. Love them.

Blake, your artwork never ceases to amaze me. From the places you find inspiration to the finished product *chef's kiss* perfection... I agree that your slug mummy looks much better without the glitter, although I can see how some might have found that ascetically pleasing as well, it didn't have the desired "snotty" look to it that I think you were trying to achieve, and I think it looks better as the finally result... An artist’s value(amount someone is willing to pay) is spot on to how you’ve described. Adding a % for wear and tear on your tools is a great tip. Love the pattern created for the snail and second body a great decision. It’s a shame you couldn’t keep that first body for the lion with wings….

I really appreciate your take on the financial side of a career in art. I do a ton of textile stuff (knit/crochet/etc) for fun, but have never turned it into a business because pretty much no one wants to pay for 10 hours of labor to knit a hat when you can just buy a machine-knit one. On the other hand, a lot of people I know with sewing businesses (custom dance/skating/etc costumes) say to charge at least minimum wage for your when starting out, and increase from there.
@BMSculptures4 сағат бұрын
yeah I can see that. It is always tough to turn it into a business and it needs to be different than the store bought pieces somehow.

Check to see if your tensioner in the ban saw is pulling (stretching) the blade in one direction or the other. A lot of times what will happen is once the blade gets warm and cool again over and over it will stress crack if the blade has more tension on one side vs. the other.
