For anybody else like me starting out, doesn’t making music feel like a new fun video game? It’s like guitar hero but I control the chart and I love it, but I will say to help with self doubt and just knowing if you’re heading the right direction, share your music with everybody. Ask them what they think, and don’t stop! I’m approaching the end of my first month of garage band and I’ve already learned almost the entire DAW before googling anything about it, which gives me hope I can learn more complex daws in the future

This is not a passive source, but the way I make a living out of music is recording artists on my studio. You don’t need any crazy equipment (in fact I record with a $300 mic), but you will definitely need a really quiet space, and most likely a commercial space, not sure how seriously would people take you if you record at home. I’m able to charge $40/hr and my clients pay without issue because of the quality I offer, and also because recording studios are usually much more expensive.

I made 5 sales after about 8 months, some of the beats that sold I thought weren’t that dope, I mean they were decent but not my best lol so when you say your beats need to be top class, that’s not 100% true, because music taste is subjective. You might think your beat is trash, but upload it anyway and someone out there is eventually going to like it. Plus, when you get enough subscribers, your less dope beats will still sale just because they’re made by you, so just by having clout on KZbin will trick people into thinking the beat is dope when sometimes it’s not lmao

Sometimes you can have 130+ videos and still not be monetizable. The KZbin struggle is real.
@IAMLXGEND3 жыл бұрын
Those 130+ videos need to be searchable, evergreen, or popular topics that people are actively looking for. When you’re first starting out, if you want to grow you need to do things that are currently already proven and working and/or carve out your own style of video that is interesting enough it attracts the masses or informative enough it keeps people coming back. Doing covers (remakes or singing) is one way, reactions, type beats, tutorials (that’s a big one), and they all need to be executed well enough to make people say “I want to see more”. Honestly ask yourself when you finish a vid “would this be something I subscribed to or want to see more of?” If the answer is no, just improve and get better with time
