Thanks Bel. sorry for late reply..I started using 18 mm diameter and also made a bigger version with 28mm diameter..You can actually use any size..just make sure to have fun ok..cheers

Thank you. I'm just using a typical 1" or 1/2 copper pipe from home hardware.

Hi John..I use the red rouge/jeweller's rouge for metal..You can also use the green rouge for soft or hard metal..Thanks for the comment

Love this! I have alot of copper from our plumbing under the house, various sizes. I may practice a bit! Did heating & quenching it soften it or what was the purpose of that might I ask 😊

Hi Misty, Heating. annealing copper makes it softer so it is easier to manipulate unlike metal with iron heating is the opposite..cheers

@Misty Bailey cold working it makes it herder the more you work it, commonly called work hardened. Heating and quenching, or annealing/normalizing reverses that and makes it soft again. Copper is the exact opposite from iron/steel in that respect.

Thanks for watching my videos.. I used a pipe cutter. You can get them in different sizes from any hardware store. 0:31

Is there a patina on the copper? If so, how exactly do you get it?

you can achieve patina using different method and chemicals. experimentation with heat and chemicals like as simple as vinegar makes a difference..cheers

no need to polish but make sure to anneal it everytime to soften the metal and hammering makes it hard again..polish at the end..thanks for watching

Are you aware that you can change the speed of the playback on video? It alters the quality some but click over video and icons will come up on screen. Go to the 3 vertical dots in a row and click. There will be a pop up menu where one will say something like playback speed. Click this for another pop up. The slowest speed is .25x or you can always go the other direction for twice as fast 😁

Make it softer so that you can work it. As you hammer on it the copper hardens

I like how it came out, but I think you should have used a second hammer with the line work on the leaf. Because it looks like you missed the mark a couple of times, and that would solve that problem.
