Thanks Joel! I’ll keep that in mind - had a bunch of questions about this too, particularly in my 1:1 sessions.

Stumbled upon this video accidentally. Bless the algorithm. I love the content and i think it's applicable to what I want to do now. I'm not planning to be a travel photographer full-time, but I'd love to do some commissioned works from time to time. Thanks for the video!

@@jerfareza Appreciate it J 🙏🏼 I’ll get back to posting sometime later this year. Best of luck with the commissioned works! If you have any particular questions feel free to lmk and I’ll do my best to help.

Man you're such a joyful and straight to the point dude to listen to, well done and thanks for sharing! I am thinking of using my travel photos to certain destinations to create a photo/travel guidebook hybrid. I guess that way I can create a niche product every time when I choose the right location. What do you think about that, could it work?

I remember wanting to be a travel photographer so bad in my early 20s. And then I fell into the trap of finding regular job after regular job and forgot about it :/ I'm getting back out there though!

question on drone sir. you mentioned that you travel / shoot using scooter... where do you keep your drone and how do you make sure that it will not be damage of the bouncy ride of the scooter..
@jordhammond11 ай бұрын
If and when I take the drone, I’ll usually have it packed into my camera bag and wedge it into the foothold. If I’m just taking the drone, I’ll wrap it up in a towel and put it under my seat.

Another very interesting video with lots of valuable information ! Could you please share the link to your prints ? I cannot find it. Btw I already have 2 of your prints from Bali at home but I would love to buy more as I lived in Ubud for 3 years and cannot wait to go back someday! 😊

Cheers Leo! Ah that’s awesome, which prints did you get? Got a fair fee from Bali that I’d like to put up for sale, but as of right now my print store is closed… will be reopening the store very soon, alongside an updated website - will make announcements regarding that both here and on IG 😊

Hello Jordan,☺ will this bundle be useful for someone who doesnt have social media? or we have to have a social media to pitch ourselves? also does your bundle include image exclusivity, usage rights and contracts? (I am not sure what else we need to know, I am a complete beginner). thank you for this video! also it would be great if you can mention in your next videos the net profit rather than gross revenue, so we can have a better idea/expectations of how much photographers can actually make! ☺
@jordhammond4 ай бұрын
@@joudylove Hey Joudy! It will indeed be useful for someone who doesn’t have social media (hey, you’re on KZbin… 😂). Social media can of course be extremely helpful in developing relationships with clients, but it’s not the be all and end all. Plenty of successful photographers have barely touched social media, so why not you?

Your content is always on point. Some tourism board asked me Colour mode CMYK tiffs and full resolution for licensing? When I changed colour mode from RGB to CYMC then photo looks low contrast and less saturated. Can you share any ideas?
@jordhammond11 ай бұрын
Cheers! That's an interesting one, can't say I've been asked for CMYK Tiffs before... The change you're noticing is due to the differences between RGB and CMYK color spaces. RGB is for digital displays and has a wider color range, which often makes images appear more vibrant/contrasted. A few suggestions: 1. Use Soft Proofing: If you're editing in Lightroom, you'll find a 'soft proofing' feature that simulates how the image will look in the CMYK color space on your RGB monitor. 2. Edit in RGB, then Convert: Continue editing in RGB mode, then convert to CMYK as the final step before sending your images. 3. Adjust Contrast and Saturation Post-Conversion: After converting to CMYK, you might need to make additional adjustments to contrast and saturation lost in the conversion process. Can use the curves and Color Grading wheels for contrast, and hue/saturation adjustments to bring it back to normal. Hope this helps!

@@jordhammond Thanks Jord. For product photography like boots, watch or any, do you prefer shoot details and establish shoot? Can you give your precious ideas or tips for me? What about hotel photography? What do you shoot for Hotel?
@jordhammond11 ай бұрын
A mixture of photos focused on both details and establishing shots work best. As for hotels, perhaps one day I’ll make a video photographing a hotel here in Bali. For now, I’d look through different hotels’ IG profiles and websites for an idea of what they’re after!
