Excellent video. Anyone wondering how wooden wheels were made in late 19C, early 20C should read The Wheelwright's Shop by George Sturt.

Looks great. I used the same jig saw method to cut out the spokes on my 7 inch flywheel pattern.

Love the how to and the results. I'm JUST getting started in building toy trucks and cars. Could share how you did the calipers and a how to on the drawing layout for the mag section? Thanks for taking the time to make the video.

you're amazing on the scroll saw, but did you ever consider making a template perfect then using follower bits in your router? That way they'd all be identical and so much faster. And for your scroll saw, you could easily make a deck, with a pin in it that keys off the center of the wheel so you could just lop off the outside while you rotate the rims, tire, etc. with your scroll saw.... I worked in a cabinet shop and the boss taught me: whenever you have to make more than one of anything, make a perfect template first, then every piece you make next will be identical and exactly the same.....

I live in Atl. Ga., and I do not have the woodshop tools to execute such a precise buiulding of scale wooden wheel / tire sets. Does anyone know of a reputable commercial resource to do a set of four like this - if presented with this accompanying video? If so, please FB me, or drop a line at Automotiveartists.com
