Just so you know, Vinegar is an acid and laundry soap is rather alkaline. If you add an acid to any soap you’re actually defeating the purpose of the soap of cleaning if you add them together at the same time. You’re decreasing it’s cleansing power.

I'm kinda lazy - so what I do is simply chunk up my Zote bar, and place it in a quart jar, then fill with water. When I think of it, I shake the jar. When I feel most of the chunks are well saturated, I use my stem blender right in the same jar to thoroughly blend everything up. I suppose you could further dilute this mixture for the laundry soap, I'll definitely give it a try! But what I use it for, right out of the jar, is place it in an empty shampoo bottle and use it for shampoo and body wash. I work outdoors with livestock and get quite dirty, and this does a fabulous job getting me clean and rinses away clean. I have septic and see no issues with that either.

So all you did was 1 bar of soap? No borax, washing soda … etc?
@Roostandrescue
@Roostandrescue Жыл бұрын
I do not use borax. Washing soda is a BOOSTER, but unnecessary. I’ve made it with AND without.

Why not just leave the concentrate the way it is and just add that to your wash? You would save having all the empty containers in the house. Maybe I am missing something?

I’ve left the concentrate & used it to wash & it leaves fabric feeling SUPER greasy & gross.

The amount of soap used per load is going to be so minimal and diluted it won't clean.

I’ve used this soap over a decade for 10 stinky, dirty kids. Think what you want.

If you have concerns about cleaning power use washing soda, borax or oxyclean to your soap. It will clean and freshen so good.
@Roostandrescue

@@patricedixon2634 I’ve added Borax & washing soda to this recipe. I find that this soap cleans the clothes just as good without it, so I choose to save money by omitting. But absolutely, you can add extras! I add essential oils.

Each state/area is different. I do not pay that here. Either way, $2 is a lot cheaper than $15.

Zote has optical brighteners in it. Might be why. I’ve used this recipe over a decade & I typically wear all black. Never faded mine.
