I use Neocate for my daughter, it says to mix the powder with room temperature boiled water. I use my prep machine to do the hot shot, then put the cold in, mix that and then add the powder.

Yep don't use boiling water like they are if you throw your formula into anything around 70c boiling is 212f if kills all the nutrience they did the study around 70c starts damaging it

My baby is on neocate as well I just use sterile jugs from my counter

Wait, so the formula is put into the cooled water? isn't it supposed to be 70C/158F to kill the bacteria etc?
@aistenarkeviciute79422 жыл бұрын
You are correct, formula needs to be put at 70° to kill the bacteria, then cold water can be added.
@aurora6920 Жыл бұрын
she put the boiled water in from the flask when she added the powder, then shook it before use, which i think is what is recommended when on the go. This way it kills the bacteria.

Hi. Did you have any issue with clumps? After mixing for some reason I get them a lot. Theyre smaller than grains of salt but nevertheless its not dissolved.

Thank you for making this! I just bought this formula to combo feed since my supply is dropping and i cant keep up with my daughter. And this is the main formula ive seen great reviews on :)
@charl91082 жыл бұрын
Doing it this way isn't killing the bacteria in the formula though, so it's unsafe. Formula needs to be added to water above 70degrees to kill the bacteria x

I did say this is not the recommended way of preparing formula, and to do your own research and make an informed decision. I have also included a link to the NHS recommend way of preparing formula in the description.

I guess Americans are different, we are taught in hospitals to boil tap water or use bottled water.
@RuksanaAhmed2 жыл бұрын
@@sheawhitaker6839 The hospitals in the uk also recommend to use hot boiled water (above 70 degrees Celsius) to make formula because it kills the bacteria. We are told not to use bottled water though. I have heard of other mums in a baby group I’m in use a similar method to this. Pre-fill their bottles with hot boiled water and then add the formula in throughout the day as and when needed. They’ve never had problems but as a FTM, I can’t allow myself to do it! Personally, I prefer the other method of pre-making all the bottles (inc adding formula) with hot boiled water in the morning and then storing them in the fridge for 24hrs and warming with hot water when baby needs. For going I’ve been taking ready made formula but I’ve recently bought 2 flasks, one for hot boiled water, formula, mix and then the other for cool boiled water to add and feed. It does take some getting used to but you can soon get the ratios right. We’ll see how that goes. Think it will work better for longer days out.

@@RuksanaAhmed I also used the 2 flask method but I purchased the rapid cool flask from Nuby, which makes life easier. Thanks for the tip off making milk in advance and putting it in the fridge. Didn't think you could do this.

@@RuksanaAhmed you can't make bottle and put it in fridge as formula such as kendamil can't be consumed after 2 hours

Hi this isn’t the right away to make a bottle.. You need to make sure the water is 70c even if it’s cool boiled because cool boiled water isn’t going to kill the bacteria in the formula powder it’s just sterilising the water only.
