I hate in interviews when they ask “why do you want this job” well mainly it’s because I don’t want to starve to death, not because I want to donate two thirds of my life to making someone else rich.
@cableknitter73462 ай бұрын
You think they're asking you "Why do you want *A* job?" but that's not what they want to know. They're asking you "Why do you think our company should hire YOU to work for THIS COMPANY instead of the 300 other people who are asking us to hire THEM?" So if you want them to look at YOU as more worthy of the job than those OTHER applicants, your answer needs to be specific about why you feel THEY ARE A WORTHY COMPANY FOR YOU to work for, and how you feel hiring you will BENEFIT THEM. So, yeah.. that question is never really all about YOU. It's a "What do you know and think about US?" question. So a little RESEARCH about either that specific company, or that boss, or that department, or that technology.. whatever it is THEY DO.. is what you need do in order to let them hear you tell them about THEM, and how you think you can fit in and contribute to whatever it is they're about.
@michaelprice30402 ай бұрын
@@cableknitter7346 Then why wouldn’t they just simply ask, “what about the company attracted you to this role” or “what makes you the most suitable for this role” instead of the questioning WHY I want the job.

Small tip that I learned from another KZbinr (Caroline Winkler). As someone who struggles with ADHD and Executive Dysfunction, it's really hard to motivate myself to do things, even if I really WANT to do them. Her advice has really helped me a lot, even in a state of panic and anxiety. Ask yourself: Can I physically do this one task? If the answer is yes, it takes all the emotional turmoil out of the equation for me. I take literally each step I need to do at a time at face value. If it is a physical thing I can do, I focus on it until the next step and it just rolls one into the other until I have a whole video on KZbin out for everyone to see. May not work for everyone, but breaking it down instead of trying to categorize everything I need to do all at once and having a mental breakdown really helps with my own abilities and I'm hoping the same advice can help anyone reading this, too :3

We moved in with an old so called friend that tried to extort us & well, my tools are gone. I get arrested for standing my ground. Music & art have always been embedded in my D.N.A… I love how truly honest you are. I’ve been told the same. Mental health is a thing too & I thank you. The business side of art is new to me, cause I always did it for me. I was asked if I’m selling my art for several years & I would say “ I never really thought about that, but you can have one “ money is a thing in life & art is a lifesaver, especially when you need an attorney. I figured I’d share this since your honest & pressure is something we can all identify with. Stay blessed & I jus subscribed.

If I may add my two bits worth on the matter: on most of the businesses it’s not what you sell but how; you’re selling a story, a persona, a message, a moral, the atmosphere, character of the artist (or whatever that may be, and so on and so forth), more than a material product. And that’s why customer awareness and such is generated through marketing and sharing and not through the product selling itself. That said, warmest congratulations on your business and achievements.

I'm glad to hear you say _"trying to work on myself to not let my fear of failure or imperfection keep me from even trying to do stuff"._ I relate so so much to this and it has been my problem. FEAR has kept me from getting stuff accomplished for the past 10 years of my life (15 years, if i'm being honest) and I have HUGE regrets. This may sound cliché (an I thought it was when I was younger), but 1) *try early and fail early* 2) *stay close to friens/family who'll understand you.* 3) *...and don't let people's opinions of you hinder you...even family.* 4) *One that I still struggle with: "learn to say no". (It can be done respectfully).* Over those 10-15 years, I thought my parents and others wouldn't take me seriously with the things i wanted (and still want) to do, so I never voiced my wants or dreams. Then a few months ago, I mentioned this to one of my parents, and the response was "why didn't you say anything then. I think it's a great idea." 😕 Welp...I almost broke down in tears at that statement. I've cried over the years from the fear, and then the regret, and the latter is much worse than the first. Anyway. I didn't mean to rant. I wish you the best encouragement and success in whatever it is you plan to do. 🙂👍

Now in my mid/late 30s I feel like I have just started understanding this stuff the way you’ve put it and I’m juuuust getting started on what I wish I had done 15yrs ago. But it’s never too late. You are right that the regret is at least as bad if not worse than the fear. I regret not making use of my younger years when I had fewer daily responsibilities and more time. But I’m also at the same time now slowly working on my anxiety and trying to have a more positive, less fear-based outlook on life. Hopefully the combination of these things will lead to something good in the future :-) I wish you all the best with your future too! X

Hi, photographer here. You don't need the biggest or expensive camera to get amazing depth of field or excellent video quality. I used to use a Canon M50; super affordable for like $500 without a kit lens and got a pancake lens (20mm f2) and this combo is already an excellent vlogging setup. Big cameras don't give amazing depth of field; that is due in to the lens you get. If you are using the 18-35mm lens, that is most likely the kit lens that came with the camera and is known as a variable lens; meaning when you zoom, you lose light/depth of field. Recommend if you wanna start filming shallow DOF videos, invest in a good prime lens!

This was so inspiring. I have been very unhappy with my 9-5 Job lately. Last year I even had a burnout. Looking for new career paths has been really frustrating because I feel I don't quite "fit" anywhere. That because I am the mentally ill, but artsy person, all of those office jobs just are not for me. Some time ago I played with the thought of running an etsy shop with my art, and started making a concept. But I just keep putting it down again and again because I keep thinking that I wouldn't make it as an artist. That I don't have the discipline it takes. Watching your video made me realize that it's possible for an "Uncomfy" person to do something great with their career, and be successful. So I think I will keep thinking of some products, collecting information on supplies and how to properly run a business. Once I got everything laid out, I will launch my shop as a side business. Keeping my 9-5 for a while, and just see how my shop develops. Maybe it will stay a hobby, maybe it will be a success. Who knows. But I really need to try or I will regret it for the rest of my life

I teared up when you starting talking about your work experience and courage! I’m 20, starting my own business in digital marketing/social media. I’ve been at it about 6 months now, and it’s daunting when you’re so young. I’m so proud of you and all you’ve accomplished. I know how hard it is but you’re doing an amazing job 💕 thank you for your transparency on these topics!

Heya! I just wanted to say that feeling young and branching out can feel scary, but please believe that time goes by very quickly- and there are many of us now in our 40’s who are no wiser than we were in our 20’s about a LOT of things. At the end of the day, it’s about what you are willing to in invest in YOURSELF. No gatekeeping with age, or gender, or economical background. Your reality starts with your openness to learning new things. Be brave, walk alone when you have to, but it will pay you back, this ability to buck family or community trends, and don’t be afraid to fail up. Don’t be fooled by appearances on the internet. Don’t compare yourself to others. No one can do what you do, the way YOU do it. Good luck. I believe in you!

I'm also an artist, I'm 22, and I'm not where you're at financially.... I definitely don't have a big following on Instagram or KZbin but I'm going to do my best to make a living as an artist too. Thanks for sharing this info. It definitely feels tough because I'm not really good at social media. I had a "less is more" mindset as a teenager and I really relished the freedom of not having to make every moment of my life into content. Now that I'm graduating from college I wish I'd put more energy into trying to gain an online following - it seems like it's more important than ever and I feel so behind!

I saw a video a while ago where it was said that you don't need a lot of followers to make your hobby into a well earning business. If I remember correct, they said you need to understand business and how to sell and put your art out there in stores in a nice presentable way so it draws more people in to buy. Basically it is possible to make it into a business without a high amount of followers because let's be real - it is so difficult to get followers or even noticed as an artist these days

Something that ALWAYS gets missed in these "how I make X$ a month as a..." videos is "I had a huge amount of luck". BARE IN MIND, that doesn't devalue what you have done IN ANY WAY. It is flatout impossible to get to where you have gotten from without a lot of talent and a LOT of hard work. HOWEVER, there will be countless people who have talent, and who have worked hard, but without enough luck it simply doesn't work out. So for those of you who have tried and feel like you aren't making it, there's a more than likely chance that it isn't your fault AT ALL. You just weren't in the right place at the right time, not yet at least. Congrats Uncomfy on your success, best of luck to those of you who haven't gotten there yet.

Luck has nothing to do with anything if you grind hard and believe in Jesus Christ. I also believe in Gary Vee so that just goes to prove your statement is factually wrong.

No such thing as luck that's not true if you do the work and have a lot of talent you can get your goal it's not such thing as not getting it if you did what was vital to the title
@kseniamake82816 ай бұрын
Truly second that! Not to devalue the work it takes, but 99.9% of success stories actually are about working hard and then being in the right place at the right time. Which does not fully depend on the person themselves thus is considered luck :)
@fairydragon9996 ай бұрын
Well, actually luck is predictable. You can work on your luck and change it all by yourself anytime. And there are an infinite number of ways to get to your dream. One will simply appear in front of you when you are in good mood, enjoying making art or something else. Forget about the luck and the other people you need to become successful. You have the power to become lucky all by yourself. ❤

I’m pretty sure this is the first video of yours that I've seen...? I found myself pausing to "like & subscribe" *maybe* five minutes in. 🙃 Your energy is so wholesome and kind. I don't even know what your art looks like yet, but as an artist myself, I found your messages of spreading love and kindness so easy to relate to. It's so easy to doubt and be critical of ourselves and others, especially in a society that perpetuates such comparisons and encourages division. It's so refreshing to find others who are sharing words of encouragement and motivation, rather than focusing on the negative I'm pushing 40, myself, and have given so much of my creative energy away to others over the years. I'm finally at a point in my life where I'm sick of it. I'm sick of creating for other people's businesses, giving away so much of *me*, and feeling drained all the time. So we did it! My husband and I registered our business over the summer. I'm building our website, making some things and dipping my toes in... but I'm starting to think it's time to DIVE. 🏊🏻♀️💖 Come check us out (and give me feedback, if you'd like to 😘) @WoolMoon.Studio on the socials, or www.WoolMoon.Studio 🙃✨ (Now I'm gonna go look at your stuff! 💕✨)

@@TiaToxic It is difficult to follow your passion, but don't give up! I hope you got the chance to take notes from her video, she had great tips that you can apply to most small businesses that are starting up and/or having a difficult time. She is strategically saving money by splitting rent with housemates (and prob her partner too), and does not have car and car insurance payments and gas or maintenance bills. We each have to learn the hard way, as every small business is different, especially for artists like us, but it IS doable! She is so correct that you have to learn from everywhere, do your research, and I strongly suggest a separate bank checking account AND at least for the first year (and BEFORE you start), make an appointment with a CPA who can learn about your business, and tell them about what platforms you want to sell on, and they can give you professional advice how how to make better choices that will save you money in the long run. Like what expenses you can deduct off of your taxes, as a small business owner, etc. What things you must save, such as receipts, etc. Ugh. Lots of work that is non-art. But it still beats working a job you may not like and wishing you were not too tired to follow your art passion when you get home.
