@@TiesonTrowbridge Yes, join the bandwagon! MILS ROCKS! I just started my planned City. Starting with Daily Bugle, Police Station, and Assembly Square, and built 2 MILS plates thus far, and before I continue on, I will have a Mils plate ready to rock for each building/MOC or it doesn't start getting built!!! They are literally the next best thing after Sliced bread (because regular LEGO baseplates are about as strong as sliced bread, and that was previously the ONLY thing, get it?)

I have watched a few guides now and I am a bit confused. Some builders (e.g. Bricksie) use only one plate height under the road plates. Is there a reason you use two plates under them? As far as I can see the only difference this causes is how high the edge of the sidewalk is. Am I missing aomething?
@LittleBinsandBricks
@LittleBinsandBricks 2 жыл бұрын
Right, I look at the height of the curb vs the height of the minifig. Think about how high a curb is to us. With that said, it’s an imaginary world and there isn’t any other difference in the integrity of the plate.

It depends on what you are basing it on and whether you have all of the old plates already, if you want to switch to mils, etc. the new road system that is out is a more economical way to build mils roads then a completely brick built road.

Great stuff! Just wondering if you have gone further now and moved the road and sidewalk up against a modular? I was looking at the Pet Shop for example and I see that it already has a sidewalk in front of the modular on the baseplate(I assume) so...I was actually thinking of widening my road even more on each side then so that my sidewalk isn't too wide. Thoughts? Thank you!
@LittleBinsandBricks
@LittleBinsandBricks 3 жыл бұрын
Yes I have! Actually if you use the old road plates they also have the 6 stud sidewalk anyway so this MILS plate is creating a similar style to them. My last update you can get a look too. I will have another update this coming week and will make a point to show you specifically! Yes, you can widen the road further, I think I mentioned it in there but you have to be mindful of the technic piece and switch it out as you would be changing up the corner structure of the traditional MILS plate. Definitely worth investigating. I just added some flower planters instead of the tiles down the center of the road!

Nice to see some different designs, although I prefer Bricksie’s version with the higher curb and thinner white lines. I created my first MILS road over the weekend, though I may change the white edge line from white to yellow as in the UK we only have the white lines out of the towns, and yellow lines for no parking in urban areas.
