Thank you for always being so open and sharing everything you do to keep your plants thriving! I’m not sure if you have done this already in another video but could you explain why you chose to add certain things into your nutrient solutions like the calmag, rapidstart, diamond nectar, hudroguard? What exactly are the benefits to adding these in and what kind of changes you’ve seen before and after adding them to your solution? Thank you!!

For everyone wondering : no you cant use CalMag with soft water version because soft water has a lot of CalMag already. And if you have hard water, DO NOT USE SOFTWATER at all :) Even hard water version is not supposed to be used with CalMag. Kevin should really check his water quality report and if there is more than 60mg of calcium, stop using additional calmag, you are just locking out magnesium and other nutrients like potassium.

Hello from Calgary. Love your videos! I have 95% of my plants in pon and leca as well. I am curious to know if you have noticed a difference in growth ever since you have doubled the nutrient solution concentration. I was considering doing that this summer but was nervous about burning the roots. My plants seem happy with the lower concentration. I also have a massive Thai with 30 inch leaves.
@kevin.2 жыл бұрын
Heyyy ☺️ I haven't gone back down to the lighter concentration so it's hard to tell. I always say that if your plants are happy and they're still growing well, then why change. I think I might end up doing the lighter solution over the winter 🥶 I definitely think there's a chance I'm overdoing it 😅💚

@josiemojica36742 жыл бұрын
You mentioned reservoir water should not be too hot…I am thinking about using a heat mat in upcoming months. Soil keeps roots warmer than in leca which is why I am considering. Do you think heat mat will be ok? It’s not burning hot just slightly warm.

AHA! GOTCHA!! You’re calculating your dosage on 5 liters. But a gallon is just under 4 liters. So you are giving your plants about 20% more nutrients than the instructions say. And hence 20% more than I am. That explains a lot!!
@stephenw.65882 жыл бұрын
He’s Canadian. Likely calculated based on Imperial gallon (4.54 litres) 😊
@tanya.quintieri2 жыл бұрын
@@stephenw.6588 Okay. But does the manufacturer do that, too? In Europe the manufacturer uses liters, obviously.
@tanya.quintieri2 жыл бұрын
@@stephenw.6588 I suck at math, so I just role played with my hubby. Technically, Kevin’s solution would then be 20% weaker than mine, assuming that the instructions ate for US gallons and a teaspoon is actually 2 ml. I’m confused. The European bottle says 1 ml per liter for micro, 1.5 for bloom, 0.5 for flora, 2 ml for CalMag and 3 ml for Diamond Nectar.
