Hi. Thank god i came across your channel. Regarding the medical health thing, do i have to go to a private hospital to get xrayed and tested for tuberculosis? Or i can just go to a general practictioners office? I don't have medical AID

How much does the tb test and xray cost? I guess I'll have to go to like Netcare Milpark. Also I'm doing my final year, left with 2 modules. Is it worth it applying or i won't even be considered because I'll probably graduate around March/April 2025.

Also, how long should the recommendation letter be? I've asked 2 professors. Can you help explain how it should be structured? They told me to write it myself and then take it to them for the school stamp and signature. Should the reference letter be handwritten or typed? Sorry for the million questions. I just don't want to make mistakes and applications open next month, but I've yet to get police clearance. I need reassurance that me being a student currently won't be a problem, leading to wasting money I don't have.

@@shinezkrishna7323absolutely understand the not wanting to waste money aspect of it all! You’ve already applied for your police clearance, let them know you’ve applied for it and it’s on the way. After one year of contract do you still have a chance to renew your contract to teach again as an ALT in Japan. Or you will need to re apply again on JET program and do the same process? Thank you.

Yes you do! JET runs for 5 years max. After that you can find a similar job elsewhere I believe 😊 Reapplication for the jet program is possible after a number of years too ( forgot how many)

I have been binge watching your videos and you articulate yourself so well.!! When you applied for the JET Programme, were you already in possession of the TEFL certificate? I'm applying for it but haven't finished my classes. Do you think that'll hinder my chances?

Thanks so much 😊. Nope for JET you don’t need the tefl, but it may help you when doing the actual teaching. So it won’t hinder your application!

@Precimolobye

Yes they do. You have to give 2 letters. I got one from one of my tutors. And the other one from a university club that I was a part of. So anyone that you know that can vouch for you, should be good 😊
