Thank you very much for doing the video without sponsorship. I hate that some influencers when they get bigger won't do videos that aren't sponsored.
@kaylasimonehome5 ай бұрын
ehhh I have lots of thoughts about this sentiment but imma just say this - without sponsorships, creators can’t pay their bills. how else would we have the time, money, and resources to provide content to y’all for FREE? so if your favorite creator stopped posting bc they don’t have sponsors for their videos, it’s probably so that they can focus on showing up in a way that *does* pay their bills. no one can work for free forever.

Thank you sooooo much for such a detailed video and being extremely transparent and honest. I have been turned off by so many influencers dishonesty about a product because it’s a “sponsored” item/service. The floor is absolutely beautiful.

Love the obsession with flooring! I thought all lvp were bad but probabaly look at the cheap one. Def going to check out revwood, can't wait for next video! We are about to hit the design center next month and will keeps these flooring in mind!

I had thought I knew what I wanted until your video! I was convinced that I wanted LVP and tentatively decided on Flooret. I've even ordered 3 planks of 2 colors. My requirements are pretty much exactly as yours. No high variation in color, price, scratch resistant, etc. Except I thought I wanted a light brown. I had already started to rethink that and started to think lighter. I don't want extremely light or any orange tones. Your floors are so pretty and if you liked them enough to put in 2 houses, I'm now going to consider them. I am confused if you got premier or plus. On screen said plus but the description box says premiere. Color golden hour oak? Thank you so much for this video. I'll watch the next one on the installation.

Awesome video! I’m obsessing over flooring as well, which is why I landed on Revwood BUT I’m not seeing anything with board lengths longer than 50 inches on their website.
@kaylasimonehome2 ай бұрын
In our last home we had Soft Chamois Oak and those planks are 80”. So they definitely exist, you just gotta do some digging. The website doesn’t make it easy to filter if I remember correctly.

Love your videos. I see there is a gap between the wall and floor on the right side of the Island across
@kaylasimonehome5 ай бұрын
yup, that's because the waterfall island was installed before the new flooring and this type of flooring requires you to leave an expansion gap. you can caulk the gap (which is what I did at our last house) or use trim to cover it (which is what I'l do when I renovate the island)

In your next video, can you speak to if your floors are floating vs glued down? And if there is any noticeable bounce to them? We currently have builder grade laminate that is way too bouncy for my liking and I am trying to determine if that is just the nature of laminate or if I should go with vinyl despite it potentially feeling harsher/harder on foot.
@kaylasimonehome5 ай бұрын
these are floating! there’s no bounce at all, they’re flat on the ground. I can’t say for sure, but it sounds like yours were installed incorrectly without an expansion gap. without the gap, the natural expansion/contraction of the floors isn’t possible so they start to buckle up at the seams.
@KaMarGalloway215 ай бұрын
@@kaylasimonehome thanks for getting back to me! Mohawk recently came out with another laminate hybrid called PureTech (that is being heavily pushed by local installers). Perhaps you can speak to how RevWood is similar vs. differs from this / others in your next video. And lastly, you mentioned staying within your budget of $5 per sq foot. Can you speak to if that was for material only vs. installation costs?
@kaylasimonehome5 ай бұрын
I’m only familiar with Revwood, so I won’t be making any more videos about other types of flooring. I only made this one bc I get a million questions about our floors lol. The $5/sqft was our budget for material only. The floors ended up being $4.25/sqft material only, or $6.75/sqft installed.

Hi Kayla, that is one amazing research you did, and you put in so much effort to order samples etc, i am grateful for the video. I am just a day away from signing the contract and I selected the Toasted Timber Oak for the bedrooms. I loved the golden hour oak as well but felt it may be too bright for the bedrooms. How do you feel about Toasted Timber Oak being installed in the Master bedroom and adult kids’ room? I really want to choose between that and Golden Hour Oak. You opinion would be appreciated. Thanks again for the excellent video!
@kaylasimonehomeАй бұрын
thank you! personally I wouldn’t do 2 different colors bc it usually just ends up looking like you ran out of flooring or haven’t finished renovating.

Considering that you got your floors done right after closing did you pay for your flooring in cash or did you finance? If you financed did you do that before closing? It didn't affect your closing? Can you talk about this part of the process when scheduling after closing
@kaylasimonehome5 ай бұрын
we paid for the floors in cash after we closed. we just set that money aside when we sold our previous house and didn’t factor it into our down payment.
