I don’t comment on videos often but I gotta tell you - learning that I can not only attach audio but change the pitch AND tempo is literally a game changer for me in practice and teaching! I’ve been going to the trouble of using another app to make slower tracks to use in class but this just does it all on one page. DUDE!

I can't stand using my ipad because of the small screen. It drives me crazy, but hopefully the problem will be solved within a week when my new ipad pro arrives, along with an apple pencil to mark up the score.

I think there’s an option to select multiple pieces and add them to a specific playlist. I don’t have my iPad in front of me right now, but I remember it being possible to add multiple items.

Can you timemark the attached MP3 against the score? IE on bar X, you zoom to 2:30 into the mp3 (or whatever)

Other than dimming the screen or inverting (white on black), is it possible to change the background color of the screen (sheet music display) inside forScore on iPad Pro 12.9? A friend of mine who plays the keyboard in churches is dying to know the answer...

I think you can do a sepia color so that it looks a bit more like printed music.

Thank you so much. I can't find any 'sepia' option on the latest iPad Pro 12.9" 5th Gen, OS 15.6.1, but lots of color filtering options etc so it might be possible to simulate that effect in forScore. I have sent my question to forScore support and will write back if I find out more. The question has come up for playing in dark settings. Inverting the screen won't work and we don't want our faces 'lit up' with a white iPad screen. We can dim the screen but someone wants to change the color of the screen.

you quickly mentioned the apple pencil. I love forscore as well. I am still learning how to use it but I have downloaded all my muisc to it and continue to add as well. Using annotation is a problem when I want to make a digital change to my music. The "thing" that I am using is like a rubber eraser and is too big for me to make small notes on the staff. How does the apple pencil work? I have an ipad pro as well.

Hi Morris-I really like the Apple Pencil for digital music. For me, it is a major upgrade from other styluses that I’ve tried in the past. The current iPad Pro and new Apple Pencil seems like the best combo since you can switch between writing and erasing more easily. I have the 2017 iPad Pro and older Apple Pencil, but it still works quite well for me.

Nice review! When you associate an mp3 with the pdf can you loop the sound file. For example, put a start and stop marker at a certain point in the song so you can repeatedly practice that?

Thanks! There's no looping built in, unfortunately, but that would be a great feature for them to add in the future.

I have the Gen III iPad. I play in 6 bands (4 swing). If I check another band in the edit mode it shares that score, But I need to use different numbers for different bands. If I change it (in title or tag), it changes it in both. Without re-scanning, how do I get around that?

So it has been 8 months since I started with fourscore and I have learned a lot! You cover a lot of information in the video. I've been trying to digest it as much as I can. I have organized my music numerically. The reason was at the time it was just faster to add all the music instead of typing in all the names of the pieces, Right or wrong....there are now over 300 pieces. I have a master spread sheet that is alphabetized and the corresponding number to the piece is in the next column. When I add a piece of music to my ipad I give it a number and add it to the spreadsheet. Sooooo how can I add this spreadsheet to my fourscore program somewhere? Just so I can look up a piece and get the page number to pull it up on fourscore? I have the spread sheet in a folder on my computer. I'm not sure how to copy it to my ipadpro? Even that would be helpful. If someone asks If I can play a particular piece I can look it up on my ipad If I could figure how to get them there. For my gigs I select about 40 songs a week to work and and review. I print that out on hard copy to work through and perform that week. Its when I get a request and I don't have my spreed sheet with me. Just thought it would be niece to get it on my ipad. Suggestions...

Very cool! You could probably expert the spreadsheet s a PDF and add it to forScore. I think that you might be able to use the tags feature in forScore, tag your pieces with the corresponding code, and then search by tag.

Yep, I was able to turn the spreadsheet into a pdf and uploaded it to fourscore. I’m going to have to figure out that tag thing but at least for now I can use what I have. Thank you for getting back to me so fast! I really appreciate your help. Your video is something I need to study over a period of time 😀. There is so much in this app I don’t know how to use. I did figure out how to back it up. That’s a critical step too. So much to learn!

How do you deal with page turns for repeats, DC/S, codas, etc?

You make duplicates of those pages and always go forward (the unnecessary on those pages can be simply shaded, using Annotation tool). Or you use buttons in forScore.

How quickly do these files take up storage on your iPad Pro? Are you able to save scores/sheet music in the cloud until you need them, then remove them and store them back in the cloud?

I have about 3000 items, which take up around 9 GB on my iPad Pro. You can sync with services like Dropbox and Google Drive, but it’s not a seamless process. I haven’t gotten really deep into that since there’s plenty of storage space on the iPad. I just make sure to back up the entire library to Dropbox regularly just in case something happens.

Hi so I'm looking to get an iPad 32g w/10.2" screen. When Uploading sheet music, does it get stored into the app or to the iPad itself using the memory? Just seeing if I can get away with a 32g. Thanks

It's stored on the iPad itself, so you'll run into that memory limit, but I have a ton of stuff on mine, and I've only got 5 GB of sheet music total, so maybe the smaller size will cut it!
