Full blown panic attacks that last for a long time are incredibly evil. The feeling cannot be explained. Good on you for dealing with it right away; letting it go on can turn chronic.

Wow dude I feel like we've had the same week lol! I've been struggling with anxiety my whole life and depression on and off for years, but it's definitely been the worst in the last few years. This week I really have made an effort to use my phone/the internet less and the change I notice in my mood and my ability to be present and engaged with other people is truly amazing. I've also started therapy recently which I was always hesitant to do and I've started meditating daily using the ten percent happier app. All of those changes together have drastically reduced my depression/anxiety but by far the most important thing was the phone. I charge it outside the bedroom now and I don't use it first thing in the morning or last thing at night. I hope that helps anyone struggling and not wanting try medication!

More power to both of you! That app is great! Honestly what i found was going keto/intermittent fasting (so changing my diet) also doing cold showers in the morning has helped. 100% on the cold showers and meditating right after. If u feel your anxiety is rising you can also try a warm shower and weighted blanket at night. It really does lower anxiousness! Also listening to some positive morning affirmations really helps ur mindset and anxiety. Kudos to you for not medicating!

I have PTSD, depression and GAD...a lot of you what you have described is here is very good advice. Mindfulness ( the practice of maintaining a nonjudgmental state of heightened or complete awareness of one's thoughts, emotions, or experiences on a moment-to-moment basis) and exercise are key to keep you on an even keel. Thanks for the vids :)

I'm so glad these techniques helped you, like you say being able to get through anxiety etc without drugs really is a blessing. Getting the momentum and the mindset right early in the day is key to having a good day. Most people have no idea of how much control they actually have over how their day goes. So many of us fall into reaction mode. That’s not living.

I have that problem but in general, I cannot get out of my house and feel extremely nervous. I have to get a treatment right now. Still I found out that coffee gets me more nervous than usual so I straight cut out. Then I started retaking my exercise bike exercise to see if I improve. But let me tell you something, all people who are in arts and guitar and things are like us, we all have some existential problems.

Congrats on finding a way to get through this phase. I feel like the majority of people run around like a ball of stress every day & do nothing to figure out how to get past it. Caffeine can be a source of anxiety, many people don't realize that their consuming way too much caffeine to either bandaid their feeling of being tired all day from lack of sleep or lack of exercise.

I have found waking up early sets me up for a much better mental state to take on the day. I don't work till 8 but I get up at 4. This gives me time to watch some videos, have multiple coffees, pull ups and sit ups, take a shower, think about what I am doing, think about what I will be doing at work. Just feel complete and not rushed for anything. Unfortunately my mind is a different story after work. Just want to sleep.

As a fellow Minnesotan I can tell you that the cold shower thing gets much more challenging in winter when the temp of my measured tap water gets into the 40 - 50F range! I always do my cold shower before bed (at end of hot shower) for anywhere from 1-3 minutes (as long as it takes to no longer feel warm) because although it's invigorating at first, it actually lowers the body temp which helps to induce a deeper sleep and create a feeling of calm.

5:33 My dad calls it a 'Swedish shower' because it's akin to being in a sauna and then running out into a frozen-over pool that the ice was broken thru previous. (It's more of a Finnish thing imo) It's also really good for your skin as it closes your pores should someone care about such things. In my professional work I suffer from anxiety daily due to having major job burn-out for the last 3 yrs and counting. I know EXACTLY what you and the other person mean by the metallic feeling and taste in the mouth (like you got hit in the head). I push thru, but I'll try the 20-min breathing instead of burying myself into the details of what I need to do next and thinking about how far behind I am. ROFL.

Audiobooks are also good trying to focus. If you find that your mind is wandering while listening, rewind and listen again until you pay attention. I've had to rewind up to 10 times to be able to focus, but it is worth it.

Anxiety affects individual people differently. When I get anxious by digestive system isnlrimariky affected. I was a nervous person to begin with. Been like that for most of my life, but when covid hit, it managed to push it past a manageable level. I was getting to the point where I felt nauseous and wanted to throw up everyday. I made the decision to go to a doctor. I've been medicated for a few years now. Nothing severe but it's enough to bring down the termites chewing away at my guts. I added a workout regimen, just some push-ups and dips, tried to get more sleep and, and added some greens to my diet. I rarely have an attack the way I used to. I don't wish this on my worst enemy.

Brother, i came here from a comment u made about Alice N chains. U need to run a few marathonsq . Focusing on that in combination with the training and the gradually increasing endurance will check ur mental health. I know that box in a box feeling. Get out and work ur body in training for a goal. Once in the groove, u will float through ur day and be a stronger, cleaner and fresher U. Any partying after effects will sweat out in the first 5 Miles. Do it brother even if u tried before or ran a marathon before, choose a race overseas in a third world country. DM if u have any questions.

This sounds like a lot especially for people who don’t have a lot of time. It’d be better to jog 3miles + push-ups every other day plus cold showers every day. That is how I remain stress free. I recently change my jogging time to early morning and it has significantly change the way that I feel.

After watching your video, I also played a not-so-great show... or so I thought. Until we were complimented as having played a very very tight gig... multiple people came up and said how good we and together we sounded. I then watched concert footage and was blown away how good we did in fact sounded. Nobody cared about those several screw-ups I had, that I and the band more than made up for with our high energy and "togetherness". It all started with the very first lead line that I manage to fudge up... slightly... but recovered. But seriously... by the end of the show I guarantee you nobody even remembered it. Here's proof: kzbin.info/www/bejne/en6YlZJ_ert_jrs : it's our encore performance.
