Excellent video. I am a novice painter with a number of unpainted heads. Thanks to your video I'm gonna give this a shot. Wish me luck.

Good luck, but more important... have a lot of fun! I'm planning on making a video on converting a modern style head to a vintage one and I want to show some more elaborate sculpting as well. Stay tuned!

Great! Very few videos have heads painted so well with the process explained in such a clear tutorial. And no similar channels have this humor!

Ah this is just what I needed. I’m genuinely terrified of painting heads

Why? Just do it! It’s sooo much fun… remember: that what’s screwed up with paint, can be fixed with paint. You can’t “break it”!

What are some good brushes to use for such fine detail?
@StevieSCustoms2 жыл бұрын
That depends on your personal prefference really. I preffer natural haired brushes (kolinsky sable) over synthetics. Many people think that small details need small brushes, but that’s not true. All you need is a sharp tip! A good brush also has a “belly” to hold a paint reservoir.

Hi.. if i want to just protect/sealing the painting without make it glossy, can i just use Matte Varnish? Do i mixed the Varnish with water?
@StevieSCustoms3 жыл бұрын
You could use a matte or a satin varnish to take the gloss off. You can thin all acryllic varnishes with water, but it gets shinier the more you thin it down. I just discovered AK Interactive´s Ultra Matte varnish. It´s very thin (originally meant for the airbrush, but it works like a charm with a normal brush as well) which take all the shine right off. I love it!

Hi.. another question, did u mixed the varnish with water when u sealing the paint?
@StevieSCustoms3 жыл бұрын
Yes, if it´s acryllic varnish, water will suffice!

What size brush are you using
@StevieSCustoms Жыл бұрын
Doesn’t really matter, as long as it has some belly and a nice sharp tip!
