Hi your videos are brilliant junior doctor. I have a quick question as I am thoroughly confused about sitting the UCAT. As far as I can gather you have to sit the UCAT the year before you apply? Is that right. For example, if I wanted to apply to medical school for September 2020 entry, I would need to have taken my UCAT by October 2019?

It’s ok I’m frustrated about the UCAT process tbh. I have just graduated with a psychology degree and would like to enter Graduate entry medicine in 2020 but I am no where near ready to sit a UCAT test by October 2019 at the latest. So that then means I will need to sit it next year but won’t be able to actually start a medicine school until 2021. Is that right?

That’s correct. However it is still early August meaning you have plenty of time to prepare for the UCAT/UKCAT

The Junior Doctor is two months enough time to study? I haven’t studied core sciences since GCSEs 15 years ago. I feel between now and October 2019 isn’t enough. Thank you so much for your replies btw.

Yes the exam content does not change very much so questions from and year are useful revision
