his knobs are "one knob to rule them" with low, full, high pass modes. the faders are send amounts to return tracks for reverb and delay. top 8 buttons are one-shots, I think the lower buttons are: 2 beat repeat for tracks 1 and 2 (different lengths), and two toggle returns on/off buttons for track 1 and 2. he has toggles for activate/disactivate tracks 1 and 2. I'm not sure what the two lower small buttons do, and there are some unaccounted-for buttons as well, but this is probably the best, most fun, and simplest layout i've seen

This should be a note to @Ableton, that it would be a great feature to create "Session view Track Groups" So that you can scroll through certain parts without it affecting the scroll of the other. For example, when he hits those one shot samples, it moves the session view over, but it would be great if it he could move only the one shot track while the two Deck tracks stayed where they are.
@TRTSMTT Жыл бұрын
yes, that would be a nice feature. a little bit more flexibility with the UI

+Cosmic Jay warp mode in ableton
@philkim31738 жыл бұрын
+Cosmic Jay - Try to read up on the specific function of each "Warp-Mode." I realized that using warp modes requires situational awareness. First, you need to ask yourself what you want happening to your audio and how each "warp-mode" will affect it. Right click the grid when in "Warp-mode" and "SET 1.1.1. HERE" is your best friend when matching BPM. Just keep messing around with each mode. You'll get it! "Beats Mode" - Specifically for drums and percussion. (This mode may work the best for processing power.""Re-pitch Mode" - Vocals, Synths, Melodies. "Complex." All around good for beats, synths, melodies, percussive, but requires a lot of processing power on the computer.""Complex Pro." - Same shit as above but  more power.Hope this helps.

Bro you KILLED it b2b with G Jones for Bassnectars Nye 360 a few nights ago. Hot DAMN that shit was fire 🔥🔥🔥
@AndreGMendes7 жыл бұрын
Nice clean setup. If your looking to do something similar you don't need to import all the one shot samples every time you fire a new track. Instead load a Drum rack and inside every pad (in this case 8 pads) put a sampler. Then inside the Sampler drag all your samples into the sampler's zone (SEL) and apply "distribute ranges equally". So focusing on Pad 1 you should have all samples you would use for every different track. Now map the chain selector to a Macro (for making it simple to visualise). Repeat the same process for all the other 7 pads and map them to the same Macro. Now the only thing you have to do is create and envelope that changes the chain to the respected music that is playing. You could do this 2 ways. The simplest way to do it is to have dummy clips in the Drum Rack that change the chain's position. But if I were you I would grab a max for live (like the "multimapper" for example) and put it in every playing track itself then map the Macro in the Drum rack to it so that every time you fire a song it will automatically change which samples should be focus for playing in the "One shot" area. Following this logic you can have a max of 128 songs in a set. There are ways for getting higher than this but I think that 128 in a typical liveset like this should be enough. Have fun
@monsieur.connard7 жыл бұрын
I do it like you explain, what I don't understand in his method , is about the crossfader mapping : every time he hit one of is one shot clips, the crossfader move to B, I tried to assign several clip to the crossfader but I can map only one.
@AndreGMendes7 жыл бұрын
You can't do that internally in Ableton but the good news is that you can do it :) By looking at the video I don't see any automation on the crossfade so I'm assuming is doing it externally. From here we can go several ways to achieve this. My way to go on making this is through "Clyphx" which is a script that elevates Live 10 to Live 20 on the fly. The code you need for this is: "[ ] MST/XFADER 127, MST/XFADER 0" put this on a dummy clip on your session (it can be an empty clip) and have that clip looped. Also make sure this clip is in the same scene as your "One shot" clip. This expression will work as a momentary switch meaning that the crossfade will only go to 127 as long as the dummy clip is playing, so as soon as you stop the clip or launch any other scene that doesn't have that dummy playing it will automatically go to th default value 0. Anyway before you go onto making this read the manual because in the end you'll come to the conclusion that there's an Ableton before and after Clyphx. Have fun! :)
