Nice simple little system! When it comes to wires and electronics I need simple🤣Take care Steve👊🏻

Great… I have the same kit… enjoying it. Building it out a bit bigger. Really functional base. Thanks for posting. 🎉

Great idea having the R&D cabin to test stuff out.

Think we’ll be doing some experiments with solar ourselves but more of a whole house kind of alternative for when we can and back to grid when needed. Take care man

Nice, I'm looking at one to power my house too. You too

I would have definitely house wrapped that cabin before the Cedar shingles went on.

Hey Steve I've been wanting to do the same and am... in a shed and for a small boat. With inverters, for camping, my first thought was my coffee maker! The average standard coffee maker uses aprox. 1600 watts! When I do buy an inverter it will likely be 2K watts or bigger. I currently own a 100 amp hour LiFeP04 battery and a little control panel I've used for the past 2 months to recharge EVERYTHING that we use - phones, pads, headphones - you name it. Started with 13.6 volts and it is down to 13.1vdc after 35 charges? I've been collecting LED lighting - West Marine had yard sale tables out so I bought up $220. worth for $7.69 - it was only 5 items but so cool wired to the battery and will end up in our big shed. Keep us informed as you continue to learn and recreate things. THANKS - R

leave a drip loop where the wire goes in so water does not run in

You are exactly right about the losses through converting power via inverters or transformers. The simple evidence is in the heat that these devices put off. Heat is from the energy that is creating your loss.

Not to mention the very loud fan in the inverter itself!

Who's videotaping you while you're doing all this stuff? They do a good job. You're funny. Hike up to a cabin to watch netflix. 😂 NOT.

@@buildlife is that your son? Maybe you should introduce him occasionally to people that don't know your channel. Jake that's very well with the camera. Jake was my grandfather's name.

He is not. He is a good friend of my son is how I know him. He does our social media marketing for my other businesses and just turned out he can edit better than this old roofer@@TakeTheRide

Only issue with such a small system is it wont even power up a coffee maker. Output wattage is too low. But fine for Low Voltage lights etc.
@buildlife7 ай бұрын
Yeah I might try that and see. Any idea what 600 amp inverter will run?
@MrTonyPiscatelle7 ай бұрын
@@buildlife 600 watt I think you meant to say. Well you would have to look at each appliance or device to see what the power draw is to determine that. Most coffee makers , hand held hair dyers etc draw 1000 to 1500 watts. They do make inverters that have a larger out put, but they also make 12 volt coffee makers as well.
@upinsmokefirewood7 ай бұрын
Yeah not even close. I've got some really big inverters we run gutter machines off of in box trucks . They put out allot of power but they charge off the truck and only run for a few minutes at a time off one battery. You'd need allot of panel and or battery to run it very long.@@MrTonyPiscatelle
@MrTonyPiscatelle7 ай бұрын
@@upinsmokefirewood Not sure what you're saying exactly but running a coffee maker for 10 minutes wouldn't take a bank of batteries. Just enough wattage for that time which most any battery could handle once every 12 to 24 hours
@buildlife7 ай бұрын
That was me.I have another channel up in smoke and was apparently logged into that account. What I meant was the system I have is not nearly big enough to run very many of the things you were talking about without a more powerful inverter and betteries to run them at night.@@MrTonyPiscatelle
