I got rejected. I was told by many many ppl that the TSA is so important that it can once be the single factor to determine the result of my application so I prepared so hard. But the test room was so noisy in my school and there was a language class going on next door I could hear it so clearly. I only got 60 in the tsa it turns out. I can’t accept that.. so I have decided to reapply for the 2024 entry.

I'm Also doing the TSA S1 for E&M and I was wondering if you noticed any patterns in the questions that you could tell me about. Also, i am very interested to know how many marks you got on your TSA S1 so i know what to aim for. Thanks.

Hey! There aren't many, or maybe even any, patterns that you can't find out yourself from going through the past papers. As for marks, I believe I got 69-70. You can certainly get in with lower, but the odds naturally improve as your score goes up.

@@JoeMead I thought there were only 50 marks in the TSA S1

@@youngg5099 The score is different from the raw mark out of 50. It changes year on year to adjust for the difficulty, similar to how GCSE/A level grades aren't determined by the raw mark on the paper. I'd recommend reading the exam website for more information!

@@JoeMead silly update but so far I got into Durham and Nottingham, and the TSA which cost me dearly was a 68.4.

What about the essay section?

That's a great question! The essay section is much less important (and not tested anymore for applications to E&M), so I don't believe I actually did any preparation for it other than looking at previous papers to get a feel for the style of question asked.
