Hello Sirat, I just confirmed my Interview booking slot and its Chevening instruction says - " Interviews will be carried out over video conferencing tools. You will be contacted directly by the British High Commission to confirm these details. Please note that invites will be sent to you three days before your scheduled interview, we appreciate your patience." - So does this mean that I won't need to personally travel to the interview location and give it on online video conference platforms from wherever I am or - Does it mean when I go to the interview at the British Embassy I will be doing it on video conference due to COVID Situation? - Also could you please tell me which video conferencing platform does Chevening use so I can practice using it beforehand?

Hi Madhu, Congratulations! Thanks for the nice words. I am happy for you. Regarding the two questions. Be prepared for both online and physical. It depends on the Covid restrictions. The platform is also different in each country. Mostly, Zoom, Skype and Google Meet. For myself, I had to go to the Embassy for video conferencing only for the Visa.

Hi, Thanks 😊 Please apply! Do not worry and do not be discouraged but the amount of experience I have. I had a gap of 6 years between my school and university. That means, compare to my age, I’m older and that is why I have experienced. If you are a fresh graduate it’s all right. Don’t compare yourself with an old man like me 😂. You will have more experience by the time you reach my age. Do your best, write whatever you know or have and be positive. Try to do volunteer work and gain more experience. Good luck 👍

Hi, 1. you can use the personal statement you write for Fulbright. You cannot copy paste because the structures different. You have to write it in a logical as required by Chevening. It is considered as plagiarism when two different people submit similar essays. 2. Having a PhD of course reduces your chances because there are many others who deserve at least a master degree 📜. But, it depends on the number of applicants in your country and quality of their essays. 3. recommendations are clear. 1 from your supervisor, line manager, HR or director of the place where you work. It should talk about your skills, work experience and leadership. 1 from a professor. Doesn’t matter who but it should be academic which means it should talk about your studies, talent, research or etc. Which field are you looking to study?

Hi, Most welcome! For some fields I truly understand there is no need for leadership and it’s totally ok. Try to talk about what you learned about leadership and influence. Provide simple examples from your volunteer or universities leadership experience and that should be enough for now. If you can’t secure your position this year, then that means you should build leadership qualities and that is where my preparation courses comes to help. Good luck! 👍

You can apply from Egypt and can request to take your interview in UAE. Then, you can return to any of those countries.

So far as I read the guidelines, you just need to submit your essay and your Universities preference before applying. You can upload your IELTS score, after you apply the scholarship. I guess the latest submission for supporting document including IELTS and References Letter will be on February 22, 2021. I hope this help you.

Nasir Latifee no it doesn’t. But, if you want to show your writing and publication skills and achievements, this is the best place to write because networking and courses or future career plan are not good places in my believe.
