@@ThirdsLynch You're not kidding! We finished with about a 45% graduation rate. Lost people for all sorts of things. Set 1 failures, PT test failures, Height/Weight, other mod sets, you name it. The Black Sheep DSL's were ruthless. Almost proud of their failure rate in a way. In my opinion, the success rate of their students is a direct reflection of their leadership and instruction ability.

Hey DS Lynch! Thanks for these videos. I'm a reservist going to DSS in August 2020 and starting to prepare now. I like at the end of the video how you describe what you can do during your pitch. Its helpful to know that you can move around, act it out, point, etc. I'm curious what happens if you mess up, like get tounge tied or have a brain fart? Do you start it over from the top, can you catch your mistake and keep on going? Having a better understanding of what to expect during the pitch, helps with my nerves. Thanks for all the great content!

Ur welcome!! When I went to the academy, if u messed up or forgot a word, u just correct that deficiency and keep it moving! There may be a few points taken off but it also depends on your DSL that’s grading u. You can say something like this... “The next movement...position which I will name, explain, have demonstrated...ect” and you should be ok. Maybe just some minor points taken off. But like I said, it depends on ur DSL tho.

I want to say Thankyou for the videos , they helped me a lot. I just graduated from The Drill Sergeant Academy and am heading to the trail. I understand that the modules helps you understand each movement and helps you work on it to teach it but Will I pitch modules on the trail?

It just depends on ur unit really! At my unit we weren’t required to actually pitch modules.
