How I Prevented 4 Exotic Rentals From Getting Stolen

I succeeded where others apparently failed. You have to assume there is some level of risk in renting cars from people with ill intentions, I understand the temptation to generate revenue and by giving people the benefit of the doubt, but that could bite one in the butt from time to time. This time I was able to sniff out a $7000 rental that was outside of my risk comfort zone and it turned out I was right. It was fraud and other companies weren't so lucky.

Someone listed a “2015 Nissan Versa” with 5k miles on OfferUp. Met them up to see the car and test drive it. I had downloaded a VIN search app minutes before seeing the car. I scanned the door panel and the car showed up as a 2019. Then I asked to see the pink slip and it was inkjet paper with weird stains on it, clearly fake. I politely declined on the deal and left. Called it in and the car was a rental car. Lol

Ya see, fishy smelling pasta is actually the no-carb pasta made from some weird asian potato skin or something. the noodles smell fishy from the wet package, but ya gotta cold rinse them a bit in a colander, until they don't smell fishy. then boil them up, drain, and put your Alfredo sauce in the pot, and you got yourself a great Keto meal. Suggest adding some salt, pepper, olive oil, and garlic butter if you're using Alfredo sauce that came in a jar.

The criminals presumably don't want to use cards they legitimately own partly because of cost but mostly because that would leave a paper trail back to them. I would assume that each set of stolen card details the criminal was trying came with a different address (which needed to match to have any chance of the payment going through).
