Tbh that dig out and and footings could be an absolute nightmare mate. I would get some ground workers in and just price the brickwork and steps. It could end up costing 6,500+ just for the excavation and footings💯👍like you said tree roots, collapsed drains and god only knows

I would advise the customer to have a contingency in place for any unforseen issues below the ground mate. Make sure you advise them that any unforeseen issues will incur extra Labour/Material cost...

If you are only using skips that will be pretty expensive. Be interested to see what footings that existing wall is already on. They look pretty deep for the weight the new wall will be. No idea of cost but look forward to the videos.

I built a big retaining wall and steps in my garden last year made steps 1800 wide 450 deep each step going up 2 coarses each step and 8 steps in it with walls either side etc i had 3 grabs of earth come out concreted footing etc 95p a brick and blocks aswell ...i reckon i done £5 K in materials ...id be very careful as people just dont appreciate whats involved as theres lot of work that ent seen ...dont do it for jam sandwiches.

Make sure the price is for the job as Described, anything outside that like remedial repairs to drainage or additional drainage is extra and putting drainage in between the flowerbeds and outside walls are extra too good luck mate will be watching 👍👍👍

For labour only I'd be pricing that up to nearly 5-6 grand because I've worked on old people's homes before and they have quiet periods (usually 10 til 12 and 3 til 4 to allow residents to nap and have grandkids 'round). Gunning all that out would have to suit their timetable, not yours. Alongside factoring in your fuel if you haven't got digs. I'd also defo ad a hoddy to the price because there's no way you're getting all that done on your own with noise restrictions. Other than that, it's gonna be an interesting build.

£7,000 total………Labour = bricklayer 18 days (£5,400) + labourer 10 days (£1,600) all materials, skips, large plant supplied by others. Drain works excluded. Will you need to allow any attendance for the handrail install? Hope you win it - would like to watch that one!

I would say 2-3 weeks with for 1 skilled, 1 semi skilled, and 1 labourer. 1.7t digger with breaker, 1tonne dumper. Voly and barrow concrete, I would price that £19500 all in plus railings on top of that price.

Hi trick Hope you get this pal Im a little different when come to pricing I can pretty well see the money just judging its size I price at £1000 cubic meter for me being a tradesmen and one labourer plus materials and plant on top of that You will have to harris fence the site off stop kids getting in plus reinstate ground back up to what you've built So if it's 3m x 3m x 2m £18k That's why if i build an extension same size ish it looks like your getting something for the money Problem with my price your now in competitive land with everyone else Where as your price you will get the job Maybe best you stick an extra £3k on to put towards ya van 9 n half you will still get that job

Skips are expensive grab lorries are cheaper always a risk not knowing what’s going on underground be careful the company that owns the drains don’t get involved they’ll want to inspect what you’re doing to protect there pipes you might need permission from them to build over ive just done something similar

IMO… nightmare of a job that for a self employed bricky. Need experienced squad on that, from top of head £19k all in. Inc. all materials (inc ironwork), labour and plant hire. All ground works and waste disposal. Think about it 🤪. The architect is trying to reduce weight there. You can see what you’re building on… whose name is on the job? Has the drains been inspected? I’d take a guess there and say there’s not adequate founds original build and slipped. 👍🏻

I think the foundation are about 2 inch thick 🤣🤣 I've priced the drawing. Any problems in the ground are extra on top. I haven't got the over heads like a big squad. I think I'll do OK. Tune in to find out 😊😊🤣🤣

A lot of the pricing depends on the result they want. If its all about getting the cheapest price possible then you get what you pay for. If its about high spec, you need to take your time and give the customer a grade A job.. In this case there's a few unknowns so I'd warn them there might be extras if that tree has to come down or drains redirected/ repaired or something like that. A good opportunity to show your skills off, hope you get the job... I'm not a builder so what do I know?

Do you guys still add a day rate for any unseen problems, as you know tricky best to cover your arss, I would put that in your write up when priceing so they are aware , also do you have Dial before you dig, don't want to be going through any cables.
