How I price things - print, promo, lasers, etc

Today I talk about how I priced products in the method that I called cost plus. This is where you take all of the cost associated with producing a product, times that by the profit you want and adding them together. This is not the only way to do it, but this is my favorite way to price my products. I also talk a little bit about how I priced out source products.

I believe that is a misconception that brokered work does not need to have overhead priced in. Whether the job is produced in house or out is not the concern of the customer. Therefore, there is no reason to short change your business. Whatever profit you gain from an outsourced product is diminished because the profit you made is still diluted by your overhead cost.

But if you’re outsourcing, the amount of overhead is significantly less since you’re not using electric or any of your supplies other than uploading the file.

That is not exactly true. You still have insurance, rent, your salary or that of your team.
