@AuriniaVerlag9 күн бұрын
Hi friend. Now I know why you sometimes suffer from a lack of cashflow: Your margin of 40% is too low and 30% provision for the salesperson ist too high. As simple as that. 10% profit before taxes is not enough to survive.
@PromoRick8 күн бұрын
40% margin is on the high end for promo. Many are at 35% and some (large online) as low as 25%. His payout is actually somewhat low for this industry. Average is 60/40 Split and steps up to 50/50 at higher revenue. Cash flow is just tough as you grow as more and more cash is needed to fund orders.
@itsjojo73608 күн бұрын
@@PromoRick I thought it was off the sale price not profit. are you saying the commission is based off the profit and not the sale in the case of promotional products?
@PromoRick8 күн бұрын
@@itsjojo7360typical commission in the promo products and apparel industry is based on net profit. I assume Daron pays off the net. Some (very few) will pay off the gross but then the rate is much much much lower.

@@ttmswhat about salary? Do you pay them a salary?
@Watsonsengraving9 күн бұрын
I assume your %'s are profit correct? So if you make $1000 profit on a job, they get $300? Profit is very easy to calculate on outsourced products, how do you handle it on products made in house, especially more custom jobs where things can and do go wrong, say if production makes a mistake that requires the job to be remade and the profit is eliminated.

Way to go, sales payment based on sales only. So, it is up to them to make profit for the company & earn their commission based on the sales. Lots will fail but some will climb the mountain...

I help manage a promotional products manufacturer (we make stuff from scratch as opposed to mostly decorating), and there are a few ideas we have. First - if it’s 10% our fault it’s 100% our fault. And we take care of our customers accordingly, even when it hurts. Second - the customer isn’t always right, but they are always the customer! Not saying these ideas are unique to us by any means, but they definitely help inform our customer service philosophy. I’m happy to say also, that we’ve created many loyal, raving fans out of the ashes of problematic orders, just because of how we take care of people.

But totally get you up and down headspaces are part of running a business.
