I'd charge about $500 just for exterior trad cleaning. My price would include screens, frames, and sills. I would have upsold some spot soft washing so this would have been a $1000ish job. Great vid! Thanks!

Where are you located? I haven’t found anyone charging that much for exterior windows where I’m at… i’m typically one of the most expensive businesses in my area, and making around $100-$125 per man hour. Are you a really good at sales, or are the prices of everyone else in your area similar to you?
@stefanbertasz4690Ай бұрын
@bluladder Houston area. Yes, I'm really good at sales but let me be clear...$1000 jobs rarely get finished in 1 day. Very little competition here, but most don't care enough to clean their windows.

Hey Ben. Thanks for putting these videos together. What is your minimum? I think I heard / read truck minimum (?) $$169 and also $249. Newbie so maybe I am confusing key terms. Thanks 🙏

That’s right, minimum is $169 if I’m staying outside, but if I’m going inside the minimum is $249.

I had averaged it at $500 as well. One thing that works is try to guess how many hours by yourself it would take you and charge $75 to $100 an hour and its around the same
@bluladder15 күн бұрын
@@ElliotsWC yeah it’s a little more risky for me to estimate that way cuz I always assume I can clean faster than I actually do 😂 overconfident lol Btw thanks for a real logical comment and for not just throwing out a random big number to sound cool 😂 I try to get an average of $800 per day, with about 7 hours of actual work. If I’m doing additional services besides window the number has potential to get bigger. I’m typically a little sad if I pull in under $80 hourly, but typically that only happens on first time cleans that are dirtier than anticipated, and most often I’m hitting $100-125 hourly.

@bluladder yea I seen comments saying $500 would be just exterior only 😂

Another good video sir. I am the same on the windows for $8 per side and use the same method although occasionally I will ask them to take a photo of all 4 sides of their home which they are more than happy to do plus use Google Earth. Do you do those old-style double hung with the storm in between them having to remove and take apart the whole window - I hate those with a passion so charge $200 a window I tell them. Rarely get those jobs which is fine but if i do i want well paying for it.
@bluladder3 ай бұрын
Thanks for the feedback! I used to clean them, when I lived in New York. Once I got used to them I didn’t mind so much, just charged double and took my time. Definitely easier with 2 people, one guy can be inside and work on the same window as a guy outside. Now I live in Texas, and thankfully I haven’t seen those storm windows since moving 😆so no, I don’t clean them anymore
@DanielCarrillo-t2c3 ай бұрын
Does that price include cleaning the screens? And do you charge more pre window if you have tracks you have to clean?
@bluladder3 ай бұрын
I include screen cleaning in both prices, and the tracks are included if I’m cleaning inside. If the tracks are full of dirt I will increase the price slightly, no more than 10% more

How do you find the square footage of the house
@bluladder3 ай бұрын
I google the address and usually Zillow comes up first with the square footage of the home. If you live in a more historic area (like I did when I lived in NYC) then it’s less reliable on older or custom built homes and I’d say stick with counting windows.

Can you please teach me some other way to price a window cleaning service. I'm not from the US and the standard price per window, sqft, and per hour is kinda hard to sell. I'm from the Philippines by the way the exchange rate is kinda high $1-₱56 for the paying customer if i use the US standards rate. Hope you reply. Thanks
@bluladder2 ай бұрын
@@CarljohnTotto you’ll have to figure out what prices work where you’re at. The principles are the same, you want to figure out how long it takes to clean a set number of windows, then charge based on your target hourly income. I’m not sure what the going rates are in your country though, so you’ll have to look around where you’re at to find a starting point
@CarljohnTotto2 ай бұрын
@@bluladder thank you for your reply. Is there any other cost that I need to consider? Is there a minimum cost regarding how many windows I will clean?
@bluladder2 ай бұрын
@@CarljohnTotto that’s up to you as the business owner. No hard set rules. If you feel like something is going to be more time-consuming, charge more. If you think the job will be easy and you’ll finish faster, or you just wanna give somebody a better better deal, you can charge less. These prices work for me based on my circumstances. It is based off of my target hourly rate of around $100/hour. I have a trip minimum of $169 for any service that I do, because I don’t want people to call me to clean one window they can’t reach. It would be wise to consider if the windows are extra dirty, if the tracks are covered in dirt or mud, if there are hard, water, stains, or if the windows look like they haven’t been cleaned in five years… charge more if it’s more difficult. It’s important to keep track of how long it takes you to do the work versus how much you charged, and also how many customers booked versus how many leads you quoted. If you get 10 leads but only one booked, you may need to lower your prices (or be more personable). If you book 10 out of 10, then you need to raise your prices significantly. Ideally you want half of them to book, that’s how you know you’re not too cheap or too expensive.
