When I was younger, I would scam people out of their accounts, and sell them to make money, often through your website. I was fourteen at the time, and had no real sense of how villainous my actions truly were. Watching your videos has really made me feel remorse for my actions, knowing that I could have been doing honest legitimate business the whole time.

Markee don't listen to the trolls. I can see integrity and honesty in you. Regardless of what your past might be. Your future is what you make it and your honor and validation is strong within you. Good luck on your travels. I wish you the best. Cheers. Big fan.

Just because someone sells an item for more than what most people usually do it's not scamming or ripping off. I've seen people using those terms quite often in virtual economies recently and no one seems to understand the difference between scamming/ripping off and buying low selling high.

Really easy one. Go to Office Depot/Office Max... Check out how much it costs for a Cat5 ethernet cable. >.> Note, at my job working for an ISP, we just threw out about 2600 ethernet cables, because they're worthless besides the tiny bit of copper in them. Buy them at New Egg...

I saw the Markee Dragon somewhere and then it clicked, it had to do with Ultima Online. I played that game for 8 years. UO Grandfather of PvP and MMORPG's, love it.

I used to buy gold in UO... probably several thousand dollars worth. The only thing I can remember about the transactions is that a female avatar dressed in white and black with long white hair and a beret would make the delivery and would want to meet in out of the way places like Skara Brae. Was this a MarkeeDragon character? She was always nice and speedy. If I purchased gold at 2pm, I would have the goods by 2:30 or so. I wish I could remember the character's name...

You were right to keep your day job because these sorts of things have a finite life expectancy. It is the essence of human nature to look for exploits and loop holes. They are the engine of survival but once everyone catches on, it is all over.

Im envious of you and your experiences - you're doing and have been doing exactly what i wish i could do hehe. Ive never really thought of myself as one with an "idol" or such, but man.. if anyone, its you. That mightve sounded rather .. corny - still though, i really wish i could get myself into the risky but fun, interesting and rewarding world of .. well, bussiness related to video games. Could almost call it a dream. Who knows, maybe its possible to get something going with Diablo III.

Use to have a very high traffic website/forum that dealt with virtual trading in accounts and items with a vast amount of online games (mainly MMOs). Against EULA of all of said games most likely, grey business. He has since turned "legit". I believe the forums alone were worth 6 perhaps bordering 7 figures.

Fine line between ripping people off and profit. It's just a matter of how well you cover it up with image and posturing. Look at the cellular companies. Do you have any idea what their profit margins look like? Or the oil companies? They are the ones truly ripping you off.

It is a monopoly if a person, cooporation or group of either holds the majority of the marketshare. I think the word you are looking for is a Cartel, forming business Cartels is illegal because it means you can artifically keep prices at levels the market otherwise couldn't hold and thus gouge your customers which is bad for the economy in general. That said it depends on the details whether what he did qualified as a Cartel, just working together doesn't make it that.

It doesn't seem counter-intuitive at all that working with your competition makes you more money. It works so well in businesses that it was out-lawed because it was too unfair for the consumers (corporate trusts, monopolies, price pooling, etc).

How are we supposed to see the WoW code you flashed up on the screen at the start of this video when the code wasn't large enough, dark enough or steady enough to allow it to be freeze-framed and written down? So far as I'm aware - and I've been a WoW player for 7 years now - some activities are definitely illegal. Selling gold is one, selling game items is another - but if these codes you display are genuine, always assuming they can actually be read and written down correctly, how and where can one hand them in?

ZalthorAndNoggin, The concepts of an act being "illegal" or and act being "against company policy" are very different. One can land you in jail, and the other only get you banned from a service. Your comment makes me believe you are mixing the two.

Everything you have ever bought has been by someone like this. Your computer probably cost about half of what you bought it for, that pop you just finished drinking cost about 15 cents to produce, and the cost to build your house was a hell of a lot less than what you paid for it.

Hello Marcus! Any thoughts on Diablo 3's potential for virtual to real currency conversion? Do you think the legitimizing of this will boost the potential to make money, or without sales being "black market" driven will the price of items drop so drastically that it will no longer be realistic to make good ROIs? Curious what you would think of it and if this is a major step for the future of gaming and micro-transactions etc.
