Congratulations, hope you are still Quit. I quit smoking cold-turkey 7 years ago after a 36-year habit, and have never looked back. Don't even think about it anymore.

I quite smoking by getting pneumonia being bedridden for 11 days, when I got out of my death bed no longer had a craving for the filthy habit, July 1996 haven't touched one since

I drank water when I had cravings and tea, that's what worked for me/ Meditations, Allan Carr, and videos on youtube. No patches. I focused on eating healthy and it worked. Everytime you don't give in to cravings : nicotine, sugar you increase your will power

Allen Carr is a genius. I don't exactly know what he did, but I stopped smoking half way through his book. I suffered, of course. But it didn't feel like the withdrawal symptom was impossible to overcome.

fitfooduk A few days have past, and I've had moments that triggered me. Don't worry, I am not relapsing. However, I now start to have the feeling that life will never be as happy without smoking. How long is this going to last?
@stringbenderbb
@stringbenderbb 9 жыл бұрын
Kai Lai If you have the book read it again. Carr explains this illusion (...life will never be as happy...) in detail. I relapsed after 6 months: I was not addicted anymore (after a week you realize, you dont think about smoking that often anymore).I relapsed, because, of that illusion. DO NOT RELAPSE!. It.is not worthing it.

I haven't smoked in 2 days! And that says a lot I used to go through 1-2 packs a day. I got tired of chest pains, shprter breath and feelikg of being trapped by the habit. When I feel like a need to smoke I brush my teeth or I do something with my hands like a puzzle or even clean. I cut down on smoking first then when I felt I didnt need a puff every 4 hours I quit just like that. I barely get ceavings and carrot sticks help. Or if u still need a crutch get a non-nicotine ecig. They have them out in stores in different flavors. You can definitely do it! Just go the pace you wanna go.

Thanks for the video, I am on day 4 cold turkey and hanging in there fairly well. I have read articles and watched videos to get as much information as possible. I chose the CT quit style due to the 72 hours and nicotine levels are near zero. It has been interesting to say the least...a little edgy, light headed at times and trouble staying focused. But, for now I have not come close to lighting up. I want to encourage anyone thinking of going cold turkey, prepare and go for it. Has it been easy, not really easy...but not as bad as I thought it was going to be. Thanks again for the really informative video!!

well im doing well with the quitting,bought one pack of cigs before I smoked my last.still sealed pack and I bought them because I always had a fear of not having any.i haven't given up anything to discourage me from smoking.still have my coffee and a glass of wine or a few beers.when I feel like one I use a Nicorette inhalator.i walk my sons dog every day for a few hours and although I eat a bit more I work it off by going up the hills with the dog.its very strange because im finding it a bit easier this time compared to all the last times ive done it.

ive tried cutting down over the past few weeks,some days I smoked 2 or 3 a day,some days I smoked more.when I think of not having any cigs in the house I feel fear.i feel im having an argument with my own brain at this point.having tea or coffee makes me want to smoke,taking that ciggie makes me feel crap and weak.i am disappointed in myself because I always think I can do it,ive been smoking for over 20 years and I know I need to stop as it will eventually effect my health.

Good for you :) I'm actually 21, and in all fairness, I have never smoked or drunk anything in my life so far. Hell, when I turned 18, I never had a drink or had a cigarette because I didn't like it. My older-idiotic brother tried to get me a drink a pint with him, and I refused to drink it, not because I didn't like the stuff, but because I made a commitment that I would never drink or smoke because it's not worth it. If people want to drink and smoke, that is completely up to them. I'm happy people such as yourself (whoever you are in the video) are quitting smoking (even though its been a year and a half since you quit)

I'm glad I could help a bit :)) I did eat more when I quit, it's natural- you have this habit of putting your hand to your mouth if it makes sense but I opted for healthy snacks like nuts and seeds and I was craving lots of fresh veg maybe my body needed that to help detoxify. I gained almost a stone BUT remember it is only temporary and after few months you go back to your normal weight if you eat good diet and no sugar etc.I had problems sleeping first 2-3 weeks, sweating a lot

Have you guys have tried using Personal Vaporizers (PV's)? Dump $40-50 into an Innokin MVP 2.0 and some delicious 6-8% e-juice. Battery lasts all day, maybe 2-3. Turn it up to 10 Watts and enjoy! I am in my 3rd week with no issues. 2 of my co-workers have quit completely as well (2-3 wks into it with very little withdraw symptoms). We were all 1-2 packs a day, 10-20yrs. Its definitely worth dumping $50-100 and having a solution that has countless people. Find the right flavor e-juice and the correct nicotine content and watch magic happen. Good luck! Note: First 72 hrs are the "toughest" because of the psychological reminders. After that, you will begin to hate the smell of regular cigarettes. Its crazy!!

Hi! Thank you for kind words. I would say, get your diet right first before giving up. Cos I think most people put on weight because initially your metabolism slows down. When you get the diet right then even after quitting when you have cravings, you reach for something healthy. That's what I did, I craved lots o veggies and nuts. I put on 6kgs (1 stone) but after 6 months roughly my body started going back to normal and I started losing weight. Good luck!

i'm a heavy smoker for 17 years ,and one day almost year and half ago , i decided to quit. my mind has made up thus i can quit successfully, cold turkey , no patch , no e-cig. No point if you think you gonna use patch or e-cig to substitute cig, you would finally go back to smoke oneday anyway. you must decide to quit it all, your mind has to reach that conclusion before you would be able to really quit.
