I'm a simple lad. I see a Floberg vid, I click to watch. No but for real, your videos are so inspiring, I don't even know how many times I've gone back and watched your race vids for motivation when I'm not feeling up for a workout. Always gets me up and moving. Thank you for all your hard work you put into not just the miles but also these videos and most importantly for showing up for yourself.

I ran my 2:35 PR averaging about 53 miles a week in the immediate training period. This was many years ago. That was nearly a 9 minute PR at the time (1983). It took me almost 5 years from my first marathon finish to do this, though I was lucky that I broke three hours in my second marathon. Quality work helped me. Now, at 71, my stride is maybe 60 percent of what it was back then. I no longer run full marathons but I still run up to the half marathon distance.

“The fight is worth the feelings, so go commit to the process”……. Fucking hell, Fire me UPPPPPP!!! Running my first marathon at grandma’s this year, due to a ton of inspiration from your Floberg. I made a lot of running progress this year, with your content and process playing a huge roll in that. I’m fucking excited man. Sharing your experiences has helped me so much. You’re going to crush Boston. GET AFTER IT!!!

Hey Eric. Gotta admit mate, irrespective of your race times (which are impressive), the most impressive thing to me seems to be the training, and consistency... all whilst being a husband and a father of young children. I have two kids under 3 and did my first marathon in September last year. To be honest, and straight to the point, the amount of time and training required to really give it a good crack, drove a bit of a wedge between my wife and I (as it is a selfish endeavour at the end of the day). I'd love to see you do a video about how you make are able to train and make it work around and with the rest of your life. I'd love to do more events and training in 2024, but need to find a way of balancing it better with my family life (not to mention other areas). Thanks in advance!! Good luck for the Boston Build!!!

Awesome video, and super impressive progression from sub 3! Ran my first marathon at the end of 2022 in 4:23, second in Nov 2023 in 4:08, but totally slacked on the training for both occasions. Only the last 3 months or so I’ve really committed to training 5-6x a week and learning, and have already seen immense gains in my aerobic base and speed. Next target is a half mara in March (going for a sub 1:35), and going sub 3:30 in my next mara (likely in the fall). Never thought sub-3 would be possible for me but if I can pull a 1:30 half this year, I may go for sub-3 in spring of 2025 (would love to do it in Tokyo Marathon if I can get a spot).

Didn’t run a marathon for 6 years. Spent 9 months only doing base miles consistently week over week, plus 2 months marathon prep with a 10k test race included. Beat my old PR by 10 minutes to run a 2:42. It’s as simple as that. Consistency, then volume, then intensity.

I am an Italian living in London and It’s been many months I am following you on every social, and I have to thank you for the huge push you gave me from literally the other side of the world. I am committed for my first marathon (Rome, spring 2024) and - guess what - Chicago 2024! I hope I will be able to say hello and thank you in person there, where I will attempt a sub 3h: not even half of my daily motivation throughout 2023 would existed without your story telling. Wish new PB to both of us in 2024 🎉❤

I came across this channel in mid October, I was injured and not able to run. I started rehabbing and trying to figure out how I could get better. In the process I found your channel and it has been very inspiring. Last year I ran my first half marathon in Naperville. This year I didn't do a lot of running and as I mentioned I was injured. In 2024 I've signed up for the Chicago Distance Series (Shamrock-Half-Full) Having seen your videos on how you've progressed has lit that fire 🔥 for me. I recently started running again and I've already been saying something similar after every run; "Stick with the process" I hope to get to see you and run with you one day. Thanks!! 👊🏻😎

Love this! It’s super encouraging because I just started running in summer and signed up for my first marathon in this upcoming February. Going from never running to now training for a marathon, it’s been frustrating with how slow I am and how high my HR goes at slow paces, just very discouraging. But I’m 6 months into running after not ever running. Just turned 36 and late to the game but I’m excited to see my progress when I’m 40 if I keep this up. Great video, got me pumped for 2024!

Pretty incredible year with some huge achievements. But what is a bigger achievement that the actual times is the fact you were able to commit so much to the training and balance training high mileage with your busy life. I always feel like this is the hardest part of being a runner. You mentioned you slept really well consistently was a huge factor so that is awesome. I assume since you have kids and you sleep well that you are probably a pretty early riser. I am curious if this is when you do most of your running? I have never been good at waking up early (no kids yet) and I think this is my biggest weakness with trying to train as much as I would like. I am trying to fix this now as I know it is the only way I will hit my weekly volume goals in 2024. Anyway keep up the great work and can't wait to see what you have in store for next year!
