I didn't really think about it much but when I was young my dad was sometimes out running. He didn't talk about it much but he had a lot of medals from different marathons in his drawer. It was not until I was grown up that I realized that he was pretty good. He had a best of 2:36 I think. If one haven't done a lot of running oneself then the time doesn't say much, but now that I'm soon to be 42 and training for my first marathon I truly get how insane a sub 2:45 marathon is, or even sub 3 hours. Much respect for the hard work.

Yeah non-runners can't really relate to times or distance. My mother thinks that me running 20km as training is impossible for the body. My best friend told me that he can run a 40:00 10K after I told him that my time is sub 40. The last time he did any endurance sport or running is 8-10 years ago and during that time his best 10K was a 48:00. He estimated that a normal marathon time is 2:30:00. My girlfriend, who has never run in her life, says she can easily run a 10K in an hour. Lack of knowledge makes you overconfident. A bit like watching professional sport on TV and thinking "I could do that too".

Amazing progress since your sub 3 marathon. I would say. Don’t overthink strenght training. A lot of different ways to get results there, but you’re doing functional stuff right now. I you want to feel stronger after marathon prep simple bodyweight exercises like dips, pull ups and bodyweight squats can do the trick (at least for me). Also easy to do besides marathon running. Will follow your journey! 👍🏻💪🏻
