Thank you, Kim. I thought I was the only one who felt that way. I’ve loved working from home and not having to be in person at the unnecessary meetings that could have been handled by an email. This pandemic fed right into my anti-social tendencies. I may never be normal again!

I’m adopting this! Lol Our house used to be the hang out spot for all our friends and family and all their kiddos. Literally, we would have a house full of teenagers and kids all summer long. My son’s father has 7 boys and they would have their friends and cousins over all the time. Then friends and family would use our house to throw birthday parties, we’ve hosted an engagement party, bachelor party, you name it. We just have the set up and have to connections to live bands, etc. and we really would enjoy seeing everyone happy and enjoying themselves, especially with helping others who couldn’t afford to do things like that. Despite loving it, I’ve found love in the quiet from the past year as well. So I think for us, as things normalize more and more, finding a healthy balance of that quiet time for our household members and also throwing get togethers for our friends and family will be key. I will also say this, the relationship between me and my man has grown stronger and we are closer again. We actually learned how to have full conversations again about more important things besides the “what’s for dinner?”, “who’s picking up the boy from school?”, “have you seen my keys?” kind of talks. Learning about one another’s desires and goals, planning for our future, real conversations have come back into our life and that has been the hugest improvement that I don’t think would have happened without the lockdown time.

Omg, why are you people so damn afraid of a virus that is exactly like the flu?!?! You are letting the media and Govt. scare you into being afraid. It’s just a control issue now with the Govt. Masks are NOT 100% effective you know and it’s been proven that they will NOT protect you from covid. They actually had a study that said there were MORE people who got covid with masks versus those who did not wear a mask. You are aware that it is NOT as deadly as they try to make it seem and it’s been PROVEN that doctors are being paid to claim covid cases when they are not covid related at all right? Meaning that all these so called millions of covid cases are not correct and the numbers are actually lower. There is a 99.7% and higher survivability rate with covid. Ask yourself why we were fine a whole 4 months before shutting down because covid was around way back in Nov. 2019. No high death rates, no high cases and no overwhelmed hospitals. We were fine. We only started to go downhill because we were forced to quarantine and shut down for so long. So no being exposed to dirt and healthy germs and being around other people. Ask yourself why you have never worn a mask during cold and flu season because covid is just like the flu. The symptoms are the same. Hell, most people who had covid didn’t even know it because they thought it was the flu. People die from the flu every year and yet we didn’t shut down, wear masks or quarantine. You are also aware that anything and everything can kill you right? You can die being in any mode of transportation. You can die anywhere in public. You can die in your own home dammit. Are you going to be afraid of life??? We’ve always had viruses and diseases throughout our history. There are ALWAYS going to be deaths regardless because it’s just a part of life. Being afraid is not living. Believe it or not most of the people who died had underlying health issues to begin with. We need to get back to normal because doing this shit will NEVER help us achieve herd immunity. We will only make ourselves vulnerable and won’t develop a healthy, strong immune system to fight off future infections because we aren’t letting our bodies do what they are supposed to be doing. That means being EXPOSED to dirt, germs and viruses. Stop being a sheep and get back to living a normal life. I’m also an essential worker but I’m not going to stop living or be afraid or wear a mask the rest of my life because of a f*cking virus like all the other millions of viruses(many of them DEADLIER than covid btw) that we have. I’m not going to let the damn media or Govt. tell me to be afraid. Unless the death rate was truthfully extremely high to begin with(which is never was) we are going to be fine. We will get over covid just like all the other f*cking viruses that we deal with. We have to face it head on and be exposed to help us. Enough is enough and you people need to use your damn brain already. Those who give up their freedoms so easily and do exactly what the Govt. or media tells you to do just because they say so without questioning anything is very dangerous. Florida didn’t mandate a stupid mask order and their deaths were no higher than the idiotic Liberal dipshit states who overstepped their authoritative bounds and forced everyone to shutdown and wear a mask. So once again, STOP being afraid just because the media and Govt. tells you to be afraid.

Agree with you, Kim. Also, “normal” never existed as anything more meaningful than a stagnation point between “black swan” events, which Covid certainly has been. The pre-Covid “normal” we knew no longer exists and never will. This is an opportunity to find a new normal. Let us hope it is a better one than the one we had.

I think we need to ease back into "normal". Even with the vaccine the virus is still out there. My fear is once vaccinated, people will think masks are no necessary, or social distancing doesn't need to happen anymore. I fear we will see another surge just because people think everything is ok. We haven't reached herd immunity. We still need to be careful.

Maybe society just needs to get over itself. Didn't women burn their bras in the 70s? And go without? I was little, I'm not sure. I don't even want to put on a sports bra. Maybe people just need to get used to seeing nipples (which auto corrected to Naples and hippies first), and a different silhouette.

Kim I'm with you. I'm in NO rush to jump back into all the activities. As we're coming upon the one year mark of when schools/world got shut down I'm missing the being forced to do nothing and getting back to basics. I'm a teacher and have gotten back into my old habits of working till 5, coming home, cooking dinner and going to bed. I was thankful my daughter got out the picnic blanket this weekend and we hung out in back yard most of the day in the sun (well I did for a couple hours, thwarted by house chores). Much love Kim!
