Very awesome story. Mine is very similar in alot of ways. Especially the reliance on faith. I quit a really good job to jump out on my own. I prayed one day for an answer on which direction to take. An hour later I was setting up a machine at my job with tears in my eyes. It wasnt sadness. It was overwhelming affirmation from God to take the plunge. The next day I gave my 2 week notice. 6 years later Im the Car Wizard. Lol

I discovered your channel and web site while I was recovering from lower back surgery. I was looking to get back into motorcycling after a 30 year hiatus. I watched pretty much every test ride video you did back then. I still watch your channel daily. You are inspiring in your positivity and the way you love and respect your family. Life is a balance and you certainly seem to be handling that very well. I remember Caleb being *really* loud in the walk around videos. :) Used to have to turn the volume down to watch those.

I do HVAC-R and several of my coworkers started their own businesses working for 3rd party companies. They work for these 3rd party companies for a couple years then go straight public calls from local recognition. I have set up my LLC but haven't jumped into my own thing yet. My wife pushes me too start. I'm only making $30per hour now and it's not enough. I'm trying to find the motivation and self-confidence to start my own businesses. Any encouraging words from the viewers?

A worldly view with a spiritual answer. I was told this" in the world most people borrow money they don't have, to buy things they don't need , to impress people they don't like. God is our source and our supply, he is more than enough, he is El-Shadiah. Worrying involves doubt and fear, so, if you pray why do you worry? easy to say, but challenging to do.I have been there.Good story and great encouragement. Thank you!

Brother, you are a great inspiration! I was diagnosed with leukemia June 2020, slammed with several hundred thousand in medical bills and searching for a way to supplement my income. I've riden harleys for 40 years and can fix anything that runs. Iam a strong man of faith so I prayed. Now I am starting to flip bikes and my plan is to build a shop to buy, renovate and sell great bikes of all makes. Thank you for all you do, for your faith, your humor and your videos! Love ya brother!

You're pretty inspirational yourself. The US needs socialised health care. My cancer treatment cost me zero here in the UK. The Health service also patched me up when i've crashed bikes a couple of times, plus physio...One time i got picked up by flying ambulance. All free at the point of use. Sure it comes from taxes, but after your insurance company takes a cut, Americans pay more for healthcare than nearly every other developed nation.

Sean, As a new subscriber I've been watching many of your videos while we're snowed in here in Texas. I'm enjoying the esprit de corps within your special business. Its refreshing to see a man of faith standing proudly for God. Including your family in many of your segments keeps us all grounded. It reminds us to always keep life in the correct order. 1. God. 2. Family. 3. Job. I enjoy watching you cut up with your employees and customers as you keep it all real. Being humble is honorable and seems to be a common trait at Bikes & Beards. I started riding scooters 58 years ago. Rode across this great land from The South of Texas/Louisiana to the Grand Canyon, Sturgis SD, Iron Butt age 50. Loving all brands and sizes. If it has wheels, burns gasoline and transports a person I love it. Not a brand fanatic, had em all. Currently on a 1964 Honda CA77, 305cc Dream. May God Continue to Bless you and your great family. Keep it up.

It nice to see a kind and genuine person find success in business. To often it's only the greedy, cut throat, jerks, that screw everyone over to get what they have and find success. But you have broken that mold and proven that you can be a decent person who is honest and straightforward and still find much success in business. You deserve it and I hope you continue to find many more years of even more success for you and your family. I hope you bring your kids into the business at as early an age as possible. I got my 1st real job at 13 years old right when I started my freshman year in high school at H & L Sporting Goods while the rest of my friends were just screwing around and playing video games. Which little did I know at the time but H & L Sports was where all the jocks and cheerleaders, basically the cool kids in high school all wanted to get jobs so they could get discounts on their gear. I started that job as a quiet kid who mostly stuck to myself. I grew up in a neighborhood with a lot of older kids who were bullies, so I learned to fly under the radar. But that job helped bring me out of my shell and build my confidence big time. I went from quiet and shy mostly staring at the ground when I walked around. To making friends with the popular kids like the lead cheerleader from our high school who also happened to be the most beautiful girl in the world. While I was sort of nerdy amongst my own classmates I made friends with a bunch of seniors who would give me rides to school, take me to football games and let me sit with them on side lines in senior section, and also being friends with me at school in front of all the other freshman kids which greatly affected my popularity. Nobody is going to make fun or pick on you after they see the prettiest girl in school run up behind you and give you a big hug for covering their shift for them. In fact I remember the first time it happened and when she ran off the other freshman were like what just happened, how do you know her, etc? That little job did so much for teaching me responsibility, work ethics, and confidence in general. That I don't even want to know how my life would have turned out if I had not had that job to build me up when just starting high school. I think small family businesses like H & L are great places to work and teach kids a lot about life and preparing them for the future. I had always wished my family had a legacy like that to take part of and pass down to future generations. I hope you do the same thing with your kids and teach them early the same ethics you have and prepare them to become the next generation of ethical business people and show the rest of the world that people do not have step on the next guy just to get a leg up. And nice guys do not always come in last either.

I sit here and listen to this today, on the verge of filing for an LLC and a business license. My nerves are at an all time high as I jump into yet another one of my schemes. Will this pay off, will this work, is this the one that gets me over the top? All of these questions run through my head, and I realized upon watching this... I'm not alone. You give me hope that even if the path I'm on isn't the one that brings me to "glory"(relative), that I'll get there eventually. And for that sir, I thank you and I applaud you on your success.

Yet another self made, lucky, overnight success ...... aside from the hard work, the risks, the help from others, the hard work, the faith in your own ability, the respect for others you do business with, the hard work, the work/life/family balance, the owning up to your mistakes, more hard work, more risks, humility in spades ........ The more I see of you the more I admire you, despite the fact that I don't always agree with some of your views or some of your purchases, projects, tastes and methods. But that's what makes the world go around. Vive la différence. Keep up what you do and how you do it and hopefully you will inspire others to walk a similar path.

Absolutely true about banks, when I didn't need money, tens of thousands were offered to me any time I was there to make a transaction. So you can imagine my surprise when, a decade down the road, when my resources are totally accounted for with payroll, inventory, equipment etc. and I need little bit of breathing room, I get told to jump through hoops, and then....no.! I barely survived, and learned to hate banks!

Sean: Appreciate your honesty and story, also that you use scripture to make positive statements in your videos. I've always liked bikes, no particular style, but for the artistry and creativity they provide builders. The Honda video was a good example of that. (barn find for $850.00) Your willingness to push through doubts and obstacles is an inspirational point in your videos, the best of good fortune to SRK Cycles.

I know exactly how you feel about banks. I built up a small screen printing business, wanted to take it to the next level and purchase an automatic press. Went to the banks with a 32 page business plan, PLUS a signed contract for Wholesale, Retail and Tour merch supply for a big merchandising outfit - banks all turned me down, I lost the contract and went under. This is the most ridiculous crap I've read lately. It's easy to believe something like this when you live your life with your head in the clouds and your fingers in your ears. I can damn near guarantee that if you could find and you took macro data on how many people with grossly successful businesses believe that God made them successful vs people who dont even remotely feel that way, you'd be sideswiped. "God" did NOT make him successful. His linear actions led him down a predictable path of success. This model can be continuously repeated by atheists, agnostics, Buddhists, pagans, muslims, etc. With the same outcome. "God" had nothing to do with any of this... you might say "Well, without God, he would not have met the guy at his church who owned the dealership. Hallelujah!" I call bullshit, sorry. He could have sought out someone else outside of church and ended up in the same situation. I'm perturbed by how willingly ignorant your type are. You rely on a diety to frame your lives because you're too weak to live on your own amongst the chaos of probabilities. You need a story. You need a framework. You need something to coddle you when the silence of night sets in and you're alone with your internal monologue. I used to be you in this sense. Clinging to hope of a luscious beautiful afterlife. It keeps you from the stark possiblity that once you're dead, that's it... I'm glad that's not me anymore. Success is the outcome of the individual's progressive actions, the same as a homeless person isn't homeless because "God" made them poor and starving. It's the repercussions of one's actions, or lack there of. Cheers

Another great mnemonic SRPR Situation - Risk - Plan - Resources. This can be used in any situation. What's the existing situation? Whats the risk to people, finances, safety etc, what plan can be put in place to eliminate or restrict the risk, what resources do I have to deal with the situation. Prepare to continually revert back to your SRPR if things are changing.

Awesome story! Thank you! Very inspirational. I have loved and lived bikes ever since my dad put me on the tank of his bike and rode around when I was in single digits. You have something going for you which is skills in sales. Mine is completely hands on bikes, repair and build. Can’t sell that easy.

I have plenty to say on this video. But don’t worry all of it is good. I just don’t know where to begin honestly so long story short. You’ve got me believing in myself again. I’m still scared. Like I worry that I might fail but you answered that question in this video too so thank you for that. All I know is this..... God’s always giving me ideas. I always find a way to talk myself out of it. But then I look at you, Sir and I’m like but you did it. You had a crazy idea and you ran with it. I’m inspired. 2020 I’m going in with a plan to just start implementing all the ideas God has ever given me. One idea at a time of course and I’m gonna keep on going until like you, I can support my family and create my dream job.

Amazing how the internet has made buying and selling things so easy. Many dealerships sell more on internet sales vs floor sales. Internet pricing is even less on the same vehicle that is sitting on the floor. Amazon made it point and click. Shop the whole USA find the best deal, then negotiate by email, text, or call. No more terrible all day buying experience with slimy salespeople. I live in Hawaii where they actually add to the MSRP a convenience amount of cash since competition is not as fierce as the mainland. I buy my cars/motorcycles from California/Arizona and have them shipped. Still makes a great deal. Enjoyed your insight on your business.

thanks for releasing this one! big follower of your channel. i too have been working at an auto dealer for a while now. being a tech is cool, but the unreliability of flat rate income and getting worked like a SLAVE furthers my desire to do my own thing like you! i didnt know we had this in common. i used to hop around from job to job to job to job over and over, never satisfied. looks like i need discipline and focus.
