Deano I’ve always been a huge fan of you. I’ll never forget when you were on 250’s and I went to southwick and after practice I was in the pits and I stopped to look at the pro circuit rig. You were talking with your dad and you stopped your conversation with him to come up to me and give me an autograph and chat with me. That memory still sticks with me today 7 years later. Good luck Dean, I hope to see you back racing soon!

Deano I don't think many people understand just how gnarly you are for coming back from a broken and dislocated hip as short of an amount of time you did it in. That's the gnarliest thing I've ever seen. The fact that you were back for A1 should have been a huge story on NBCSN, they definitely missed out on the best story of the offseason there. Anyway, chin up, train hard, can't wait to see you kicking butt whenever y'all get back racing! Much love from Ohio

Broke my right femur and tore my left acl/meniscus/hamstring about a week before your crash. Went through the k-hole. Dean, I'm so glad to see that you're back buddy! #️⃣1️⃣5️⃣ You've got a 💛 and it's sad to see the most positive person in racing take on the biggest hits and have to smash through every obstacle one could ever encounter; however, you're the strongest willed man in racing that can withstand it and come away stronger for the effort... *Anyone else would have QUIT!* You have my utmost respect as well as admiration & everything in-between for the prices you've paid without waiver... Yet, you're still here! (Also, between you and me, you have the best sponsors that a man could ever ask for in life!) You have to be the most inspiring guy in the game and while you did miss some races, I believe that you're virtuous tenacity is what makes you such a good person to back. If they could only figure out a way to sell "Dean *Willpower* Wilson's" actual willpower, I believe it would be banned as an infectiously addictive performance enhancer! 👏🏼🤣

Great video Dean. I went through the same/similar injury and it is hell as you say, both initially and in recovery. I really take my hat off to you and Malcolm Stewart for how well you have both come back from it. It is really scary in those early days of the injury when you feel like you may never be able to walk again and just doing the basics in life is a major effort. To see your progress in such a short time is sensational and a huge credit to how hard you worked at it. Congrats and I wish you all the best when racing starts again!
@Ianiswrong4 жыл бұрын
Sounds crazy dude! Glad you’re okay! Hearing you talk about that pain reminds me so well of dislocating my own shoulder, it was out of place around 4 hours while they waited to figure out what to do lol. Also riding in the ambulance hitting all those bumps sucks big time haha. I’d imagine a hip would be way worse then a shoulder though so good on you for making it through all that!

Incredible recovery... thanks for the video Deano, cause when you close your instagram account after the hip injury, I really feared that you closed the shop on your Sx/MX carreer... such a nasty injury again... I saw you won in Montreal last fall, and I was looking to watch your rides on 2020 US SX season... it was a bummer... so this documentary is very interesting on what were going on behind the curtain..... will and heart of a true champion... you and K-ROC had so much bad luck to overcome to get back on top... you're both inspirational guys... Good Luck...

Hey Dean, I broke & dislocated my hip. Now I’m NO pro, and a I was about 32 when I crashed. I smoke too much weed every day too but I managed to be riding back at the same track I crashed at 8weeks later to the day. I shouldn’t have been riding but I needed to get out! Probably took me 6 months to get back to a good shape. My hip has never been the same really. It clicks quite bad and feels prone to dislocating in certain positions but you get by. Just be careful with it because it will defo get worse the older you get!
