Cool set up. I hope to have something similar in a year or two. (As soon as my children move out!)

Hello. This is awesome, and inspired me to build a closet humidor. I live in south Florida and my closet is an interior 2' depth x3' wide x 9' high. Even at 64 yoa, I am not good at construction or building. I am using your suggestions....6mm vapor barrier, but going to use Spanish Cedar. I am guessing I need to remove the tile flooring. Will 6mm be good enough barrier? Thank You, again. Happy Easter!!

A 6mm Vapor Barrier is what was recommended for the construction of commercial humidors, so it should be fine. Is your tile flooring wood, ceramic, porcelain, or vinyl? Ceramic and porcelain are fine. Vinyl should be okay but the only wood that you can use is Spanish Cedar, Honduran Mahogany, or American Red Ceder (if used sparingly). All other woods will have an affect on the temperature and/or humidity. I would have to add it up but I believe that you are the 14th person to construct a walk in humidor in their home, all over the globe, because of my videos. Keep Smoking Cigars!

Good morning. I am sure you are flooded with questions. But I am very thankful that you took the time to answer. I have ceramic tile so it should be easy. Have an awesome week.

Thanks John. Aging cigars is very interesting to me especially since I have the room to make it work. Thanks for the tip.

Stud good day..I have a question for you.What do you use to get rid of smoke smell in your house?
@studnickaaquatics805 жыл бұрын
I close the door to the smoking room when I smoke a cigar. I also crack a window, even if it is real cold. I always throw away the cigar butts as soon as I am done smoking it and I never smash it out when I am done. That would create a lot of bad odor. I also rinse out the ashtray right away. I have the ability to open my french doors to air out the room if I want. I have a candle that is for removing tobacco smoke odor that I light after I am done. I also have an older Honeywell Air Purifier that works pretty good on cigar smoke. I am planning on buying a newer air purifier soon. Make sure that it is designed to remove tobacco smoke. It can be HEPA Certified but if it is not designed to remove tobacco smoke it will not work very well. This is a lot to do but I do not want my new home to smell like cigar smoke or stale cigars.

I go the 24/7 AC route also, its the only way to keep them around 70/70.

Glad to hear that it is working for other people.

Anything from about 55 degrees to 70 is fine and humidity from 60 to 70 is gonna be fine just consistent is what matters ..so keeping the 65/65 or 61h\68 degrees ..just keeping it same as best we can makes the best way

You can shut the doors to that room and buy a small AC unit ..I live in Maine I have to run AC just in my man cave and bedroom and works fine .. But I get it
