This is me sharing the process of how I moved to Portugal through the family reunification visa route.

So sorry for the late response. Yes, you can. Your spouse should call or email AIMA as things change from time to time.

No, it's not a must to change your name. As long as you have your marriage certificate that shows you guys are legally married. Don't forget to legalize and authenticate your documents.

Hi Ugo, hope I am not too late to this clip. How long did SEF/AIMA take to issue the Approval Letter (from time of submission in April) so you could apply for a D6 visa back in Abuja?

It took about 12 days or less if I can remember, It was with SEF then. A lot of processes have changed, you might want to call AIMA to find out if the process is still the same.

Please where did you buy your travel and health insurance, and how much does it cost? The flight ticket you were talking about, is it a flight ticket to Portugal? What is the duration of the ticket? Thank you sis

I bought my health and travel insurance at Allianz, I paid #24,922, It was for 1 year. I don't think you have to do the 1 year, I just did 1 year to play safe. Yes, the flight was to Portugal. What I did was flight reservation, without making any payment. When my visa was out, I booked the real flight to Portugal. Hope you understand.

@@goodnessola3450 I didn't use an agent for the flight reservation, I only used Wakanow to book my flight when my visa was out.

There's no time frame. As soon as you settle in and have all the required documents, you can send for your spouse.

My D1 portugal visa application was submitted in New Delhi ( india) in Portugal embassy on January 2023 and till now I am waiting for my visa and passport. Embassy still saying that my status in under process any idea how long I will be able to take my passport back

Processing times is 90 days max. I mean in extreme circumstances. So how can they keep your passport for over a year?

@@domingos_m sir still they are saying under process . As per my knowledge some people got their D1 visa after waiting for one and half year

I learned the process has changed now. I got a call not up to 5 days to pick up my passport.

Oh i see. Madam is it necessary doing another criminal record if the one used at Sef was done 3 months ago? Did the embassy take the new criminal record you made?

Yes, I made another criminal record and submitted it during my visa application because the one I made earlier had expired after 3 months. I didn't want to take chances so I went along with a new one, which they accepted.

Portugal is a good place. Jobs are not so easy to come by for English speakers & also for the Portuguese people.
