How I remove Rust from a motorcycle chain

I was asked to do this video by @davidtrnr1 on Twitter.
I bought this Yamaha with the rusty chain.
Personally I think there is plenty more life left in this chain and sprocket set, so I set to work cleaning them up but then I kinda rushed it as I wanted to go for a ride.
Either way the results were pretty good, not perfect but acceptable.
I just know the comments section is about to light up with a gazillion ways to clean a chain, so I welcome constructive input. Lets teach each other to have outstanding motorcycle chains!

For Paraffin, just search eBay or Amazon as links go out of date. I but 4L at a time but there are better deals if you buy in bulk

These days I just use engine oil on my chain. I soak it in an old flannel and wipe it over the chain. It seems to work well and the chain is easy to clean.

I've gave up on aerosol "lubes" and just use gt85 to clean and lube etc.

I did own a scottoiler but it was more hassle than it was worth and meant more bloody cleaning.

Paraffin is great stuff for cleaning but be warned not all chains use the same material the make the "O" and "X" rings. D.I.D in last year or two changed the formula of the rings and Paraffin destroys them (and quite quickly I might add).

What’s happening is folk are using aggressive methods such as wire brushes and string cleaners. This has led to an influx of warranty claims.
