How i removed the ENGINE MANAGEMENT LIGHT

Hi people in this video I show you how I removed the engine management light on my MK3 2.2TDCI MONDEO using a cheap OBD2 USB LEAD and a CHEAP OLD LAPTOP WEBBOOK.

after you turn the engine on for the 3rd time, the EML will come back. I had this problem for 4 months since i deleted and mapped it out. mondeo tdci's built from 2004-2007 this kind of thing doesn't work. EML will come back anyway. You can make it disapear by removing clocks and connect eml pins whit whatever other yellow led light that disapears after you turn the ignition on. I've done it. Now if i turn the key. All light are on like they supposed to, including eml. If engine is turned on , they all disapear. thank you for understanding my crappy english

The EGR valve has to be removed electronically from the engine management unit. The check light will come back on within half an hour if you just remove it in this manner.

I recently took my air condition unit out of my car because it was easier to leave it out and I never use it. But the frost light comes up on my dash now, what do you think I can do to turn that off?

Looks like a good piece of kit and intend to replace my 2L Mondeo egr valve with the same stainless pipe kit. What is the free programme for the OBD please. Regards, Rich.

Good guide, but like a couple of other commenters mention, the Scan XL software is just a trial version for "evaluation". You say in the vid that yours is free software, so it would be useful to know where you got it from without forking out a tidy sum. Realise I'm answering a nearly year-old comment!

Thanks for the video. Is your mondeo euro3 or euro4? I've blanked my egr, and plan on getting the delete pipe, but it occasionally goes into limp mode as it is if I floor it. My eml always comes on after about 5-10 miles after deleting the dtc's. Any advice would be really appreciated.

Your car has the Hot Start Issue looking at the way it starts up (starts at 500rpm then goes to 850rpm). I had to go to a ford dealer and have the PCM software updated and it's been fine ever since.

HUBBY000001 Yeah, that's all I had to do. However because it's a PCM update, a Ford authorised dealer has to do it. Mine was a lot more severe than that.

Hi like your video but I have a flashing glow plug light on the same car can you advise on that have replaced the egr valve and had light reset but car still go,s into limp mode Regards joe

thanks for your comment Joe sounds to me like a glow plug maybe faulty might be worth changing all of them. I don't think they are expensive.

Theres no way of permanently clearing the EML from a Euro4 Engine without removing the light itself. some blanking plates have a small hole in them to create just enough flow to keep it off .

Euro 3 EGR delete wont make the EML come on its a straight swap. The Euro 4 the Delete will make your EML come on but there is nothing you can do to stop it.. guys are getting them remapped afterwards and still the EML come on after a while

Also the Reving was kept Below 3000Rpm to stop the Glow plug light Flashing not Engine light. He may well have removed the Engine Light with this Blanking Kit, But as Soon as he revs above 3000Rpm the Glow plug light instead of Engine light would start to come on, followed by Engine Light, The only way to prevent this is having is Engine Computer chipped, which costs a small fortune, that’s why he kept Engine reving below 3000Rpm nothing to do with Engine being Cold

No, VW and Audi are the same as every other car, all diesel cars built after 2006 have the same OBDII socket (petrol its 2000 and I have seen 1999 diesels and 1994petrol cars with it ) to stop the light coming back on you need to get the egr programme deleted

there is a 10000 times easier way..... press your brake and gas brake with both feets but press it full.. give your key on spark.. wait some seconds > the engine lamp will start going on and off, when this happens> remove your key.. start your engine and the engine check is gone :) (sorry for my english)

just remember this people the main reasons why these basterd mondeos go into limp mode is egr clogged up , turbo veins jammed up with carbon shit, and actuator not coming in because of dry solders in the actuator circuit or loose or broken contacts due to heat and prostitute vibrations of the engine , and split in intercooler pipe which logically should be replaced by a silicone pipe ! and obviously if u blank egr with regards to management light !
