+1 on Pestana. Read all of Pestana plus about 200 UWorld questions in the three days between my IM and Surg shelf and passed...not by much but passed. Not too bad for three days of cramming.

How did you manage to read all of these books? I'm beginning my rotations soon and really need to crush Step 2. Do you by any chance have a schedule of how you studied through these books and did question banks? I just want to have an idea on how I should manage my time.

I have a question, is there one comprehensive video you have for EVERYTHING in one go? I saw that you have a three hour IM HY review. I was wondering if there is a video with EVERYTHING as a one stop shop for CK? Thanks man.

Goodnight Dr, I am an IMG trying to prepare for step 2ck. Thank you for your videos, they are very helpful. I was wondering where can I find High Yield RF for step 2ck? I was looking through AAFP but can't seem to locate them. I was told risk factors are very important in step 2ck so it would be very helpful if you could guide me on where to look at. Thank you for your time :)
@DoctorHighYieldMD
@DoctorHighYieldMD 5 жыл бұрын
I don't know if there is a source for that. You could compile them from your notes, and make a side list of high yield risk factors. Each time you see most important risk factor, highlight it! They are definitely high yield!

Hello doctor , is it possible to pass usmle step 2 ck with only master the board and u world question ?
@DoctorHighYieldMD
@DoctorHighYieldMD 5 жыл бұрын
Anas Nairoukh yes it's possible. Uworld has plenty of info in there that if you master it you should do well
@ATA-wi2lh
@ATA-wi2lh 4 жыл бұрын
At what point do you start tackling qbanks? Only after you read the entire book for each rotation? A lot of people tell me to go straight to questions and use uworld as a learning source....however, its so demoralizing and it would be nice to have a map of all the related disease and how to differentiate them, rather than learning one differential at a time via questions.
@DoctorHighYieldMD
@DoctorHighYieldMD 4 жыл бұрын
Generally I would read the book and then do the questions after. But only if you feel you can get both done in time that is the key. And yes I agree with you thats why I read the material first and then reinforced it with the qbank
@ATA-wi2lh
@ATA-wi2lh 4 жыл бұрын
@@DoctorHighYieldMD Thank you. So what if you don't have enough time or the recommended resources isn't an outline like FA Step 1? For example, family. It's hard to use Case Files as a reference or place where I annotate incorrects from uworld since 1) its long and 2) the format. Psychiatry would be perfect with the "read-->qbank" workflow but idk how I would manage the other ones.

For an img who has to appear for step2ck , do i need to do all the shelf resources you mentioned or do i just stick to the uworld , meded videos, step up to med and master the boards ?
@DoctorHighYieldMD
@DoctorHighYieldMD 5 жыл бұрын
Hey, I feel it's still possible to do well for Step 2 Ck if you master UWorld and Step Up (which will be your foundation for deep IM knowledge) and supplement with the other resources you mentioned. Focus on best next step, getting good at Dx, first line tx, first line imaging vs confirmation tests/imaging. If you want extra practice tests there are NBME subject exams which mimic the shelf exams to check your knowledge in each specialty. Lastly, don't forget to set a schedule to spread out taking practice NBMEs and UWSA to check your knowledge as you go along to attack/assess your deficiencies.
@karandeepbhatti7397
@karandeepbhatti7397 5 жыл бұрын
@@DoctorHighYieldMD Thank you so much. I personally want to read the books you mentioned , i am just unsure if i should go with all this , though i understand what you are saying. All i want to know is that these resources ( the individual subject books) aren't just for the shelf exams and are meant for the step2 as well,right ? Since you haven't clearly demarcated between preparing for two.
@DoctorHighYieldMD
@DoctorHighYieldMD 5 жыл бұрын
karandeep singh I think it depends on how much time you have to study for the exam. These books definitely help you have deeper knowledge in each specialty but might be too much if you don't have enough time. And yes they are good for both shelf and step 2 Ck. If you have limited time, I would focus on the main source which is mastering uworld and the practice UWSA and NBMEs to track your progress and to estimate how you will do on the exam

I would say it relies on general medical knowledge such as IM and FM, but focus on the acute issues. There is a chapter in step up to medicine that is called ambulatory that covers common EM topics

Step up to Medicine is a great resource for the Internal Medicine Foundations, topics you need to know. As the only resource for your boards, I am not so sure. It should be a combination of resources and Qbanks.
