18:35 I can NOT EMPHASIZE how important this tip is... as someone who has Misophonia, I went through hell during my studying time for Step 1 and had to study literally on the balcony for 4 months in FREEZING subzero temperatures because my uncivilized neighbors upstairs... but I pushed on and made it to the exam day... On the day before the exam I was hesitant about getting earplugs because I was like : dude it's a Prometric center literally in the Turkish American Association building, i.e. those people know something about being civilized enough not to disturb the public, let alone a test-taker at their center, lol! Also I assumed that such building would have soundproofing that matches up to its title... Let me tell you: If I didn't bring those earplugs with me, I'd have DEFINITELY failed the exam. First 3 blocks were excellent. 4th block comes, literally SCREECHING sounds start infiltrating your very soul and keep doing so for LITERALLY 2 consecutive hours. It's not even like people moving their chairs to sit down for a lecture or something. They were most likely playing Musical chairs (Trip to Jerusalem, more like trip to HELL!). Constant screeching and clattering, and the problem is, the proctors themselves were actually some of the most professional people I've interacted with in my entire life! They are actually very careful not to make noise themselves, and tried to help you the best way they could, but the people in top floor made their effort, at least for that day, go totally in vain! I'm just hoping that this happened only on that day, because otherwise... I'm not taking Step 2 in that test center! Only by the grace of Allah was I able to sit through that raucous without committing a crime of passion!
