A rare Steve sighting! Thanks for doing this video and showing how to do it by feel. I got a Guilford (humble brag) last month and it has a wraparound bridge. Appreciate ya!

14:18 "...first-string notes are pinging nicely..." Can you explain just what you mean by this? I think it might be a quality I've been hoping to get rid of, but maybe I'm wrong to want that.
@guitar-nicheАй бұрын
By "pinging" I mean they're ringing out pure and clean without interference - this is usually a desirable thing :)
@dividedwordsАй бұрын
@@guitar-niche I thought perhaps you were referring to notes on the e-string having a pinging quality. This is something I hear on my electrics (a 335-ish and a strat-ish). Their action and relief seem to be in the right range, but it's very easy to make those e-string notes go from nice to snapping or popping. Or pinging.

Hey Steve, glad I stumbled on to your channel! When you do truss rod adjustments, do you notice it can take a little while for the neck to "relax" after adjustment?
@guitar-niche25 күн бұрын
Absolutely. Sometimes changes in neck compression can take a day or more to be fully realized.

I just do the same as Leo Fender….He knew a thing or two. 4/64’s ( 1.6mm ) both sides . Neck relief of 0.08 at 8th Fret……Anything else sounds bad. Those strings need room to resonate to get the best tone.

Leo was quite the player...

the neck looks like a yardstick or S/t and the bridge?! that's all u get>>//?? idk about these PRS
@willhaylock3769Ай бұрын
3 64ths on the bass side is 1.2mm - that sounds far too low to avoid buziing if you are anything other than really gentle with you plucking. Hmmmmmmm 1.5mm is about as low as you gan get away with on even the best made guitar.
@guitar-nicheАй бұрын
It was low yes, and the guitar didn't mind.
