I managed to get my 1984 Honda 50cc scooter running on E85 on the standard carburettor. At the moment I am rebuilding a 2010 2 stroke 50cc with a 80cc big bore engine with a oko / pwk copy carburettor. I am also going to run it on E85. I will try to document everything.

Thanks, this video is great! I have changed my 3D printed carburetor quite a bit since the video, it's got a proper slide and throttle cable now. Runs fine on 30% RC fuel with a massive main jet. But I'll see when I can finish that, since I planted the engine into a little gocart. I'll continue with RC fuel as soon as that platform is fully finished.
I'm loving your videos man, I can't wait to see how to get my goped running on nitro.

could you tell me more about the differrences between a 4 stroke and a 2 stroke carburetor?
@2STROKESTUFFING6 жыл бұрын
4t carbs have holes in the emulsion tube, most 2t carbs don't. I've run 4t carbs without problems on RV engines.
@Hermiwalle6 жыл бұрын
Ok thanks, I actually have a 4 stroke and it has a HUUUGE dead spot when slamming the throttle open. And hou mentioned the longer needle jet how would that affect it since in my pwk 28 it had a short one and i have that carb on a 4 stroke. It also had a powerjet which i have read that on a 4 stroke you should eliminate it?!
@2STROKESTUFFING6 жыл бұрын
I'm not too familiar with four strokes, but I think an accelerator pump is often present on the carbs to squirt in extra fuel eliminating that dead spot.

nightmare in action, ethanol will degrade normal 2 stroke oil. You need an ester or caster based 2 stroke oil when using ethanol / alcohol based fuels

@Patricks_Projects7 жыл бұрын
you can get much more control of fuel vs throttleopening that way =)
@2STROKESTUFFING7 жыл бұрын
+Patrick Wetterskog Yeah, my previous attempt with drilling out the needle jet was a fail, drowned at 1/8 throttle. I have actually sanded the current needle(just the tip), and the larger needle jet came stock on a Keihin PWK off a dirtbike.
@Patricks_Projects7 жыл бұрын
And about the emulsiontube. I had a guy here with a ~17hp 70cc setup. it stuttered HARD before coming into 'pipe', so hard that it took about 10s to get over the 'bad spot'. when altering to a emulsiontube without holes, all stuttering was gone.

+Mike Grady Thanks! Yep, that's probable. Though I've actually experienced the opposite a few times, having to jet down after going up in carb size. Might be due to differences in resonance. I'll be very careful and upjet immediately if it's feeling lean.
