Very cool method. I use a dolly with the lip on the rear and the handle under the front near the coin door. The wheels keep the heavy end from lying on the ground (dead lift). I like your method. I need to get a step ladder. I don't like moving pins especially the older l get.

I do essentially the same thing, but have the legs & bolts on the floor next to the machine. When I get the back lifted up I set the back on the machine on my knee (kneeling in the Tebow position) and put the legs on. Easy and no extra equipment needed.

I use those plastic saw horses from Harbor Freight. I had one of my pins front end resting on one for over a week with zero issues while doing some painting.

I use a cat scratching post to hold up the back. I like yours better though. My cat post doesn't fold flat and the cat gives me the evil eye every time I reach for it.

I could tell how some Pinball machines are on the hefty side. But I still haven't seen a video of someone trying to set up an Atari Hercules. I'm willing to bet that one's a pain in the ass. But I always wondered how they properly level a pinball machine.

Hell to the NO!~ I'm sure the little step ladder will hold it but I don't think I will. My back could go out, my knee could go out, I could drop dead of a heart attack after I got it on the ladder. I'll stick with tipping it on my 1000 lbs Harbor Freight Haul-Master and jacking it up.

Another technique I’ve seen an operator use, especially when there’s no stool around to prop up the back at a location, is to lift the back up, with the front two legs attached, and keep going up, until you find the balance point of the machine on the two front legs. Then simply grab your leg bolts out of your pockets and attach the legs on while it is balanced on the two front legs. It’s a lot easier to use a stool, but when you’re in a pinch and have no other choice, this is an alternate way to get it done. But if the floor is slick, the front legs may move, and might not work.

The stool or coffee table or chair is indeed essential, but I find the lifting so much easier just using the kneecap rather than using hands/thigh.

If you have the room to have an actual pinball dolly like a old wico dolly you simply put the dolly up against the bottom of the cabinet while it's still upright and you just slowly bring the front towards you the dolly will slide and catch the bottom front lip of the cabinet and you tip the whole game right up onto the dolly in one motion I was just shown this method it makes setting the game up so easy no lifting at ALL! Real pinball dolly for the WIN!

Yup, but heavier to haul to shows. Takes up more room too.

Dude, you have a hydraulic lift table right behind you. Use it to put the legs on and then to position the machine where you want.

Do it essentially the same way but I use an arcade stool instead of the steps. Well done!

@@CaryHardy that is the cool thing about your method the fold-up stool! I have one that I think is actually more heavy-duty I think I got it at Home Depot... but I always have pinball dollies around so I just use those!!!

You can't beat getting under the pin on all fours and lifting it into position too haha. Dolly's are for children.
