This is the second part to my previous video where I shared how I prepared fabrics and prints for my mixed media textile collage. (You can find the link to Part One below).
In this video I share how I stitch my piece using a selection of simple embroidery stitches to add texture.
I complete the wall hanging by binding the edges and adding corner pockets to the reverse for hanging.
Thank you for watching!

A gorgeous piece of art. Thank you for showing the details of how you stitched this piece and how you bound the edges. For a beginner like me, this was so very helpful. I discovered your You Tube channel earlier today when I did a search for slow stitching and I am delighted that your channel was included in the search results. Your slow stitching videos (which I have been watching for the past few hours) are among the very best that I have watched. I have now subscribed to your channel and look forward to many more hours of relaxing learning time watching more of your videos. Thank you. This is exactly what I needed in my life right now. I'm going to try my very first piece tomorrow. I own fabric scraps, needles and some DMC embroidery floss, so I have everything that I need to give it a try........

So very breathtaking! Love your work…can I ask you something …do you always use the same size needle when you stitch?
@OhSewMindful
@OhSewMindful Жыл бұрын
Thank you, yes I do find I tend to use the same size needle. It's a case of using which ever one feels comfortable really. I'm certainly no expert when it comes to using the right needle! 😂

lovely! what about your thread? looks like you are using 2 strands, but what size? ditto what needle?
@OhSewMindful
@OhSewMindful Жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for your questions. If I remember rightly, I used two strands of Anchor embroidery thread throughout. As far as the needle size, I'm afraid I'm not sure of the size. I tend to just choose a needle that feels comfortable for me and has a big enough eye for the thread I'm using 🙂

@@OhSewMindful so just 2 strands of the regular 6-stranded size of embroidery thread?
