YAS Carla I majored in costume design at Carnegie Mellon decades ago but I was a marginalized person in art at the time and I decided to leave and become an art teacher to cultivate inclusive kids because I felt the urge to shut that shit down. Which led to community organizing, then public health and healthcare research and finally behavioral health research with a focus on quantifying the impact of culture on health outcomes. I get paid to help artists and scientists determine the integration and impact of art on things like STEM and health equity. I present at a lot of really stuffy scientific conferences on these topics and I just need to share that when I’m getting ready to fuck up a room …I 👏wear 👏your 👏clothes.

Hi Carla! You dont have to wait between products! I jusr rapid fire mine one after another in the am. I do wait 15-20 minutes after spf to let it set up before applying makeup. I love the video!❤❤❤❤

You can also let the mascara on your cheek or lower lash line dry completely and use a clean eyebrow spooly and gently flake it off. You don’t need to go back with concealer as much.

I love barely there mascara. As little mascara as I can - it’s a whole aesthetic. I use the 19/99 micro brush which makes it look like you’ve tinted your lashes not like you are trying too hard. Even do it with heavy eye makeup, I just don’t like the look of mascara on the lashes anymore. I think it’s at odds with the zeitgeist. ( The max mara is perfect for the time and for ever, I got that dress it’s divine. The neckline is divine and fabric divine. Wear it with Row suede slippers…) I love these videos it’s a happy time watching!

My palms got so itchy after having eaten a salad with mango in it. I didn’t really think anything of it til the NEXT time I ate something containing mango… Itchy palms to the max followed by bronchial tightening and a swift ambulance ride to the ER. What I learned that day is that itchy palms are your first message to not eat the ingredient that caused it in the first place (sometimes that’s tricky to know exactly which thing it was that was the actual culprit) as allergies can increase incrementally for each ingestion of said tomato! 🍅 Haha, now I’ve got something similar happened with Granny Smith apples of all things… Been eating them for ever and now suddenly, this itchy palm bit… Sheesh already‼️🙉

Carla doll: a coupla things. How to make the perfect cottage cheese for your open face sandwich? Add sour cream to it! It is so much creamier. Full fat only for both. I eat that exact open faced sandwich but put on black pepper and drizzle olive oil on it. And sprinkle fresh basil if I have it. Olive oil always perks up anything slightly bland IMHO and it’s healthy. Unfortunately for me, I’m off the tomatoes now (tummy troubles). So back to mashed avocado with cream cheese and celery salt. Or for the more nutritious and healthy protein for the buck, a shmeer and sardine (no bones) sandwich is best with whatever healthy greens etc you want to put on it. Of course, a bagel with whitefish is the *chefs kiss*, if you can find it. Costco has creamed whitefish in a HUGE jar(who knew?!) so it’s a rare indulgence for me. Beauty wise: never EVER tug on your eyelid! Non! Give that crayon to someone in their 20s! If you’re nearing 60, it is a major aging period. Only ever treat yourself gently, like one would the finest crystal stemware. Pat oh-so-lightly on the eyelid your finest, most beloved eye shadow. Put those safety pins away and buy a lash comb! Never use an eyelash curler again! This advice is gold! Sorry, but this torture device is a big no-no. There are great mascaras out there that lift your lashes. I use the mascara brand Sweed. Try it! Your lashes are fine and curlers only rip out what you have and they don’t grow back! AAAGGH! If you have fine eyebrows like me NEVER tweeze them, mais non! The “framers of the face” should not be taken for granted. Perhaps use your eyelash primer on them and then mascara? Eyebrow mascara and mascara are the same. Don’t listen to Anastasia. It just has a smaller brush! And then set eyebrows in place. In the old days I used hairspray on a naked mascara wand. But now I use a brush-on waxy gel product. They’re not silky but the full brow look lasts all day. To remove all that “natural full brow look” is tricky. I only use the gentlest of makeup remover, like Clinique. I believe matching eyebrows to your hair color. Black mascara on a light blonde person looks like…Tammy. There is brown mascara, people. I dye my brows now because I’m the white Whoopi- you can’t see my brows because I was told I could put Latisse on them to thicken them and my lashes. It only bleached them into non existence! Double AAADGH!! I wish I had my brows microbladed 5 years ago but I’m having them done now. No brows is not a good look. On an at home day I just use the AMAZING Charlotte Tilbury powdery eye liner called The Classic Eye Powder Pencil on my brows. Sweed also makes a great double use eyeliner. Hmmmm…I love your autobiographical fashion looks and am impressed in every video with your lust for life (music ref) and fashion knowledge. I dress autobiographically and design the rooms in my home that way as well. Last thing: I love your toggle bracelet but I need a metal bracelet with HUGE balls 😏 to go with it or put on my other wrist. I’ve worn stacked bracelets since I first saw Vera Ellen do it in the film White Christmas. Sometimes I alternate to minimalism to match my outfit. So after seeing Zefferelli’s Romeo and Juliet, I only wore the thinnest chain on my right wrist. Natural nail polish. Usually during the summer to go with my tan and a flimsy flowy dress. I wanted my DH to notice me not my jewelry back then. But in the 80s, you could wear what looked good on you, not necessarily what was trendy. You have such an exciting life, doll, I honestly must say I envy you. I can’t live life to my max as I’m disabled and in excruciating pain 24/7. So thank you for sharing your glamorous life with us! It makes living easier. You’re a gem! 😊

🌟Hi Carla, You're Sooo Awesome ❤ I hope you don't mind, I just would like to give you some advice, who knows maybe your hands won't itch anymore, I know I'm just an average everyday woman, when I started taking vitamins, I was told by my cardiologist that it's better to take all of your vitamins at night, at the time I was taking my vitamins 16 of them, in the morning, his/ her advice was , that if you are taking your vitamins in the am then you're tinkling (sorry for being so blunt) them out during the day, so if you take vitamins in the pm, they are being absorbed into your system during the night, while sleeping, and for some people the tomatoes 🍅 will cause eczema and psoria's, that's what my dermatologist advised me, many years ago I waitressed for 30 years, around 10 years into being a waitress, I started having itchy hands and little bumps, they itched n itched, I found out that it was caused by tomatoes, lettuce, shrimp, lemons etc,.,not by eating it, but by preparing, and touching it, I thought that just maybe saying this could be helpful 🥰 you're are cracking me up 🤣Carla🤣 omgosh, the pin for separating your eyelashes, I am a very honest woman I am going to admit it, I scratched my eyeball, someone scared me, when he came into my bdrm., not 1×, but 2×'s, thankfully it wasn't too extreme, but it hurt so badly, for days, my eye was blurry. Oh did your mom not say itchy palms going to get money ! Now I am a little older be 70 next month I am a twin so we say we will be 35 as we split our birthday but younger sister by 16 years says we will be 140 boy we look good for 140 ! Stopped makeup when covid hit husband used to always say no make up no need I stopped Feb 2020 when Joe passed as his opinion was my only one I listened to ! Plus thus new age 70 I just don't care love good clothes tie my hair back only colour twice a year if someone doesn't like don't look at it ! Just care about my gardens and play in the garden and take out our hot rod pickup love pretty cars trucks old ones our is a 49 Studebaker PU cranberry and white Diamond pearl ! As long as my ride is pretty still a Tom boy at 70 ! Take a breath and move on I say you can figure it out losing a wallet is a challenge ! But we manage as my husband loose his all the time !
