$100k is a breathtaking amount and that’s excluding any labor costs incurred in the various installations. Add all that and my guess your pushing $120k. Twice the Jeep itself KZbin must be paying well. Congratulations!

I just dropped $130k OTD (sales tax alone was $12,000 🤦‍♂️)for a 2023 20th Anniversary Rubicon AEV (only 150 made) which has most of this gear on 37” tires and 4.56 gearing but doesn’t have: the tent, ham, fridge, goose, batteries, some smaller goodies or that amazing extra gas tank. I will want to get paint protection film $7000 and ceramic coating and $1300 recovery gear and a lot more. It never ends!

I know how fast it adds up. Just shipping from South Africa for my bull bar was $2k. And no matter how I try to convince my wife she will not sleep in a tent be it on the roof or on the floor of the defender. So I have to buy a trailer. So she will go with me. Hope to see you and maybe do a trail next year on our way to Alaska.

Justin, great video as per usual. Question… I’m looking to replicate this roof set up with the Rhino Rack Back Bone and GFC RTT. However, I’m not finding that GP Factor load bar foot pack available through the link in the description or on their website. Im hoping that its not discontinued. Would you please be able to point me in the right direction. Thanks

Did you ever weigh the rig? I have a few less items than you and I found out I am 50lbs over my GVWR. I am now towing a small trailer to move some of the weight off the JLU. (I just can't justify not taking it all with me!) This is one reason why Gladiators are popular around here. They can carry a heck of a lot more material. I haven't looked into the Bronco so, I don't know what the GVWR is on those.

I never did. I’m sure it was over, especially with both fuel tanks full. I’m really trying to keep the Gladiator I have now as light as I can.

Great video. It would be nice to go over what you like and don't like. Maybe what you would do differently if you built a new JL. For example, I have the same dual battery from Genisis offroad and to be honest I would have not done that system If I could and gone to a bigger battery. It seems to work okay for the fridge but will only work for like 1 to 3 days without a charge.

I think my Gladiator is that story you’re looking for. I learned a lot of lessons with the Wrangler (LRA tank and Genesis dual battery as examples) that I wouldn’t do again.

So now I have a 2021 Gladiator with the same visors you had on Major Tom. I seem to have a lot more noise than my Wrangler. Since these visors mount inside the window frames, I'm wondering if they're letting more air noise in than other visors that mount on the door frame. What are your thoughts? 🤙🤷‍♂

Jeep Corporate has lost their minds and there should be a complete overhaul of the company - CEO down to US Mgr. Seriously, Jeep is an iconic brand that has gone from the inexpensive and simple -anyone can work on it - Jeep 4x4 to a luxury $100k+ SUV. I recall being in awe of a friend’s dad’s Grand Wagoneer in 1976. Expensive for the time, but not like today. When median income is significantly less than the cost of a Jeep, the company has clearly fallen off the trail. Poor gas mileage and outrageous pricing - the Jeep brand is sinking fast. I can buy a 2017 Wrangler, do most of the upgrades I want and work on it for myself about $15k. $100,000.00 is just not a number that will allow most people to stay current with the brand. I know, I can get a Wrangler new for about $50k. But even at $50k it is a huge lift for folks that like to drive off the paved roads. So for now, I think I will stick with the old CJ - it’s paid for and runs great.

And it broke. I do have a $100 small shovel, but it has lasted me years and still cuts through rocks and junk when digging. I love it. The Demos brand doesn’t make sense to me. $500 for a shovel and its mount is unreasonable. Hell, a lot of the stuff that gets sent to me is stuff I would never be able to purchase myself.
